GhostofGPaMazur and I are just about to put a deposit down on a spot for our future kiddo. We’re in the NY Metro area and the kid isn’t even born yet, but we need to plunk money down 6+ months in advance of me even returning to work to save a spot.

I have been mouthing off to my parents, extended family, and in-laws for months about my hatred of girly pink things. We’re due in 8 weeks. I think the offensive has worked, though, because pink gifts have been kept to a minimum.

YAS! Hahahah, I really loved her answer to the reporter’s question. It’s so rare that people actually answer them, so it was quite refreshing.

I saw in my news ticker that she had won gold and beat the world record but hadn’t watched it live. When NBC’s terrible coverage package aired later, I did get to see it, and holy cow I did not fully realize how dominating she was. It was INCREDIBLE. And I don’t even like swimming.

So, when we have multiple Third Party options, when do we start numerically naming them? I mean, are all alternatives to the main Dem/Rep nominees third parties? Do we use the term fourth party, fifth party, or the more generic other party?

I ran out to pick up a copy yesterday and definitely finished it in roughly 3 hours. I didn’t have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised and it definitely is the reason I’m a few chapters into the Sorcerer’s Stone again :)

Ugh, watching this interview start to finish was just cringe inducing. I find that political discussions/interviews elicit more incoherent yelling on my part than sports games. Which, as a NJ resident, says a lot.

538 put out an interesting article over the weekend that showed VP picks, on average, come with a ~2% bump in the vote for their state. Most polls have Clinton winning VA by about 2% right now, so 4% would be far more comforting.
