I think one of my biggest problems with it was that BB and TDK felt like you were just dropping in on Batman's life and he had fought other criminals and had other adventures. To make him retire for 8 years was a really weird and off putting decision.

It has so many elements that are awesome, but yeah it just does not hang together at all. Oh well Dark Knight is still the bee's knees.
