Its a Mcpoyle thing, i could not stand their wedding episode, and the show started really flying off the rails in 8 and 9 (they have brought it back in my opinion though)

Honestly the best Batman movie is all about the villains (TDK). Batman is a good character but his rogue gallery of villains is unmatched by any other superhero. It's why Deathstroke does not instill any confidence in the Baffleck movie whatsoever.
