That was ridiculous and insane and I loved it.

I genuinely was dreading it, but it won me over. Whatever flaws it had (uhhhh like that maybe half the cast is not particularly gifted in singing) was overridden by how likeable everyone is on this damn show. Will I rewatch it anytime soon? No. And it was long, but there are definitely worse ways to resolve some

Good. The fact that Patriot Act was summarily dismissed the way it was - when it would be going gangbusters with everything right now if it were still on the air... or the stream... or whatever - was such a dumb, shitty decision. Be great to see him bring that energy to a bigger platform.

Seriously. Who writes a whole piece about someone and doesn’t even check the spelling of their name?! And my favorite: “... it’s worth pumping the breaks.” How, pray tell, does one PUMP BREAKS???

Minhaj. Hasan Minhaj. Not “Minaj” (as in Nicki). Come on, this was the single most easily-googleable part of the damn piece. (Especially after the controversy when he pointed out that Jon Stewart had been inadvertently mispronouncing his name the whole time).

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 comes on Disney+ on 8/2.

I would be super-excited to never see Michael Cera in anything ever again.  I’m tired of having to avoid stuff because he’s in it.

They brought Zathras back, but not Zathras? I bet this is why Zathras is shunned in every time zone. Zathras knows.

To be fair it’s pretty challenging to find any film that doesn’t fall into some trope. The trick is what they do with it and, so far, this looks like it’s bonkers fun which could make it work.

The Cerritos Uniform looks so good in live action, this is going to be fun

The Empire Strikes Back

there is perhaps something very Star Wars in asking viewers to broaden their horizons and put aside expectations

Katee Sackhoff is 43 years old. And she is playing a character in a science fiction show that grew up on a different planet. People age in all different ways, especially fictional people.

“Star Wars is like pizza... even bad pizza is still pretty alright.”

Great write-up. I’ve loved all three seasons of The Mandalorian (and liked large parts of The Book of Boba Fett) for a lot of reasons, but the exploration and restoration of the Mandalorian culture and community is a big one. I find it interesting that people didn’t like Season 3 of The Mandalorian. I thought it did a

Aren’t they a bunch of Jokers?

It may help that this is a less well known Poirot story. Having seen the pre-existing adaptations of Nile and Orient Express it was really difficult not to compare them.

-Still sorta bummed about no Janeway.

We really need arthouse monster movie as a genre, no humans, no lines, just monsters, with the occasional meaningful monster look expressing the ennui of their tragic existence. A long, mournful Godzilla roar fading into the existential blackness of the end credits scroll...

The people most likely to sign up for long term missions in space are going to be I FUCKING LOVE SCIENCE people. The quippy bit though, that’s extra.
