Nope, no new episode next week. It's an all day Alphas marathon with the their season finale next Monday. SyFy staggered the three Monday show finales over three weeks.

Very cool. Trailer should play a bigger part in the show.

"the dog really ought to be above most of them in the chain of command, since the dog seems to have a pretty good sense of self-preservation."

You do realize most people don't read comic books, right? We've never seen anyone on the team reading one so why assume any of them would be familiar with the characters you mentioned? It wouldn't be obvious to most people the the cracks are related to the guy locked up in the cell.

Thanks for the tip.

Seriously, if you woke up in the middle of the night and the eyeless green glowing kitty in the top photo was on your bed staring at you, wouldn't you be at least a little freaked out?

I think a lot of it is that I look at things like notebooks and pens as inexpensive tools and not as something I would spend a lot of money on. I've never really felt the urge to buy a nice notebook or pen. But I understand that's just me and other people think differently.

Okay, I'm just too much of a cheapskate for Moleskine products.

Fair enough. But you have an excellent specific reason to get one. For the average person, why buy one of these?

Yeah. I use a bunch of 3x5 cards backed by a piece of cardboard and held together with a rubber band for notes but I'm just a cheap bastard. But seriously, who buys stuff like this?

A lot of these measures also improve overall performance against fires and seismic events. Older structures like the Empire State Building really are concrete fortresses but we just don't think of them that way.

It has to be high enough for people inside to be above the wave and any flooding. Concrete enclosed steel columns should be strong enough to withstand the force of the wave and support the load of people and supplies in the shelter portion. The final design will probably end up quite different but this gives me a

Interesting. One of my college projects this year is to design a tsunami shelter for Southern California. I may "borrow" this design as a starting point.

Wow! This sounds really bad. I had better catch it on Netflix while I still can.

Who wants to play "guess UARS re-entry day"?

Yes, completely gratuitous sex makes movies like this better.

This doesn't look any worse than any number of SyFy Original and The Asylum movies. Porn makes most things better so I might have to check this out. Just for the plot, of course.

I had to read the description twice before I realized the book title was Reamde instead of Readme. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the easily misread title (and virus) is intentional.

You missed the important detail that he didn't work there. In other words he had no more reason to be there at odd hours than any other outsider. It's not the same thing as the mental hospital security/regular prison guards you're referring to. The writer's statement you quoted is pointing out that any outsider,
