Yes, I did the exact same thing - discovered Grendel with War Child when it came out on Dark Horse, then got into Hunter Rose and Christine Spar when Dark Horse reprinted the Comico runs. Only just read the Orion Assante/Devil’s Reign arc run as part of the Grendel Omnibus reprints by Image.

YES! Couldn’t agree more. Matt Wagner’s Grendel deserves a lot more recognition generally, along with Mage (which would also make for a superb long-form TV show).

Agreed. There’s precedent for it too, given that BL was a member of the JLA during its Satellite years before Final Crisis.

Black Lightning >>> Cyborg. BL should’ve been given the post-Flashpoint JLA nod over Cyborg IMHO, given BL’s history with Batman in the Outsiders and Cyborg’s more traditional home with the Titans.
