There is a “I’m sorry I can’t help it” tone here. Instead of being grumpy and not “being able to help it”, next time you’re grumpy for no reason can you just say “Wait, why am I grumpy.” and ungrump yourself?

Your post definitely didn’t come across that way. From what I can see, you have several eccentricities, which is not that uncommon, but you are specifically asking everyone around you to adjust to you, while not mentioning anything about how you are also willing to adjust to their eccentricities.
I know this is a problem that’s mostly on me, but don’t let me come up with excuses to stay in when it’s obvious I need to go out.
Yeah. Louisiana is pretty terrible for renters in a lot of ways- There is no state law I have been able to find limiting landlord access to properties -either requiring them to give notice or come in certain hours- so unless you can get them to put in the lease you are out of luck.
showed up unannounced at weird times to “just look around”
I think this is a really good point. Some other things to consider - it is basically impossible where I live to find a decent rental that accepts pets and even kids. If you want to have either you are going to be in for a lot of trouble every time you need to find a new place. Also, I think it is worth considering…
This is a good point as well. Where I live in Georgia this isn’t as big of a deal most of the time (some neighborhoods deal with evictions, but there are plenty of areas where rent keeps pace with inflation and little else changes). If you were living somewhere like NY or SF, I could definitely see being a lot more…
This. A thousand times this. Especially in a state with essentially no tenant protection laws. After some bad landlords -including one who kicked us out with less than a weeks notice after listing our place for more rent and one who regularly showed up unannounced at weird times to “just look around”- I felt very…
The peace of mind from not having to worry about eviction is priceless, though. I live in San Francisco, and sold my house 7 years ago and moved to a rental (due to life changes, not financial reasons). I thought I’d be perfectly happy renting forever, but after seeing rents skyrocketing and friends evicted from homes…
Sometimes it’s not about health, but about diversity. See the banana.
From my experience & others, I disagree with 1 & 2. Job posters might not like it, but the shotgun approach is the only thing that seems to work in the new economy (don’t kid yourselves, posters are playing the numbers game too).
Then hire me, I’ll do the legwork for the lazy guy.
You often know when you’ve just made a big mistake in your job application. You forget to attach your resume. You…
Andy,
note that not all books are included. Bought this during the prime day sale and ended up cancelling a week later. Girlfriend could not find many books she was interested in that was included.

before we bash vegan cheese, let’s take a moment to consider those of us whose bodies are incompatible with dairy products
As stated, that was assumed. It’s not cheese. It’s “cheeze.” Something to eat if you can’t eat real cheese. Kind of how some people drink club soda with a twist of lime at parties when they want to look like they’re drinking a gin and tonic.
Stephanie,
Isn’t this pretty obvious?? When is it ever appropriate to give unsolicited health advice? It’s kind of like unsolicited parenting advice. You just don’t do that.
