There is a “I’m sorry I can’t help it” tone here. Instead of being grumpy and not “being able to help it”, next time you’re grumpy for no reason can you just say “Wait, why am I grumpy.” and ungrump yourself?

Your post definitely didn’t come across that way. From what I can see, you have several eccentricities, which is not that uncommon, but you are specifically asking everyone around you to adjust to you, while not mentioning anything about how you are also willing to adjust to their eccentricities.

I know this is a problem that’s mostly on me, but don’t let me come up with excuses to stay in when it’s obvious I need to go out.

Yeah. Louisiana is pretty terrible for renters in a lot of ways- There is no state law I have been able to find limiting landlord access to properties -either requiring them to give notice or come in certain hours- so unless you can get them to put in the lease you are out of luck.

I think this is a really good point. Some other things to consider - it is basically impossible where I live to find a decent rental that accepts pets and even kids.
