Two things:

Unfortunately, some of my in-laws are really extreme Tea Party type conservatives who are very agressive and argumentative. When it gets to be that bad, I just un-friend them on social media and refuse to have them in the house. At any family get togethers, I just try to stay as far away as possible and ignore them.
I feel like this applies for most big cities. I live in NYC, and this will absolutely result in you never getting an apartment anyone would want.
Unless you live in central Austin. If you negotiate, they’ll just laugh at you and rent the apartment to the next guy for $100/mo more.
Holy interest rates Batman. What year did they make that chart? If those are the best rates you can get currently, the answer is “Don’t buy a house”. That being said, definitely don’t pay more than you can afford, and don’t let the banks tell you what you can afford. Back when I was making $40,000, I was preapproved…
I went back to gmail today. I need my Starred emails. Until Inbox brings in my starred emails, I can’t use it.
As a lawyer... this is a bad, BAD idea. You should consult with a probate attorney and have a will set up according to the laws of your state. Just because this may comport with the laws of your jurisdiction and may be binding doesn’t mean this is /good/ for you. For an example of how badly things can go if you do…
Interesting, I’ve only used Android so I figured everything worked on both platforms. It appears that it “works” ......but not really.
Pushbullet has been gradually getting more SMS-related features over time, but now it’s finally getting the big one.…
I think you actually did a fairly good job of being balanced here, and it’s clearly written by someone who has personal experience dealing with these issues. OP’s point is so many of these articles are written superficially and do put a ton of pressure on the supporter’s role to just grin and bear it. It feels really…
yes. from what i understand by watching british television sometimes, a “car boot sale” is either one person or multiple persons selling items out of the trunk of their car/s, possibly in a parking lot. like a variation on a community yard sale or swap meet
I don’t think you have to go as far as vacation to use this idea; it can work in something as regular as restaurants. Whenever I go to a new restaurant, I try to find an item that appeals to me that is not some form of a standard burger or chicken fettuccine. Those are “safe” choices, and I might wind up having the…
I had crippling lower back pain that had been unresolved for a year by traditional medicine. A sports injury center finally identified the problem. My spine was being pulled out of alignment because my hips were so tight and off-balance. They prescribed yoga once a week. Within three months, my back pain completely…
Heat makes you feel like you’re working harder, but that’s not a benefit by itself. Compare to sitting in a hot room—you’re sweating and miserable but it doesn’t count as exercise.
I would only really say this is acceptable for marketing/advertising positions, for any other type of position I would think it’s off putting and borderline desperate...
That’s something I used to do until I learned that it’s actually a pretty destructive habit.
Pro-tip: Actually listen to people.
Me too. If I were as upset and humiliated as she was, I’d definitely want a few friends to just come up and hover inches from my face, kissing my cheeks every two seconds.
Ok what about a shower where the bride is ONLY having her parents/future in-laws/siblings at the wedding? Then on a blog that features her wedding she makes a big deal about wanting “only the people that have been near and dear to her” at her wedding? Tacky.
We don’t do showers in the UK; they’re viewed as grasping and tacky. But if I got an invitation stating no boxed gifts, my gift would be lots of tupperware boxes, individually wrapped.
