Maybe better posted on Jalopnik, but motorcycle helmets, placed on the top rack with just a small amount of dish soap, clean-up nicely, especially the sweat that collects on the pads.
I don’t think “type” is the correct word. There are types based on the backing material (paper, cloth, rubber, film, mesh). There are types based on the abrasive material (garnet, emery, aluminum oxide). There are types based on the bonding agent (wet/dry). I think "grit size" is a better term.
I take issue with “Ceiling fan rotation” - clockwise and counter-clockwise are relative (both to the direction you're viewing, and to the blade tilt) - MOST ceiling fan blades are oriented the same, but not all. Far better to suggest that the airflow be directed up or down, than to definitively say clockwise or…
I’ve trained the family (including 2 new teenage drivers), just to write the mileage on all fuel receipts, then I enter everything (including my maintenance records), into a spreadsheet saved to Google Drive. Can pull it up on my phone for those times it's me doing the refueling.
Or just fire-up Google’s Field Trip app

Have you tried Yodlee? It’s the consumer front-end to a larger back-end that many financial institutions use (and give access to for their clients).
I owned one of these with more than double the miles
A delay in Chicago last weekend? You were lucky. My flight was one of the 150 that got cancelled due to the FAA’s ground stop.
Couldn’t agree more (as the former owner of both an ‘86 and a ‘93 GL). The 1500’s were far superior, and can easily be had in the sub-$3K range (especially for an Interstate or possibly an Aspencade).
Even though the underpinnings are the same as the Outback, towing is not recommended (I have a 2015 2.5 Limited). I’m sure part of this is ride height, but it’s not something I would do.
Purchased my first Subaru one year ago (‘15 Legacy), after a string of Accords. Scouted all the competition, eventually deciding between a new Accord and the Legacy. The Accord was nice (but bland), so Legacy won both in the looks department (inside and out), and for performance - roughly the same MPG and 0-60 time,…
