Hell and yes. As an av nerd, I have to admire Lauda’s big meaty clackers...he fucking stood up to Boeing on the 763 accident and won the day. Uncommanded thrust reverser issue—the story of him flying that sim over and over and over again is legendary.

Brilliant. :)

Thank you for that story!! As a longtime airline guy, I knew of him through Lauda Air, and always admired his business savvy. He had real charisma, and horse sense, which carried him far on the track, in business, and in life. A real loss of quite a Renaissance Man. RIP Mr. Lauda.

He actually made the boeing engineers eat their hats. The horrible accident was due to a design error. Persistent, smart, and may have saved many lives with that. And that’s somehow the least known of his stories.

“This one goes to eleven...that makes it Lauda!”

72 hos is a full tournament.

Tiger woods is a classless jerk who doesn’t deserve to have his name mentioned in the same breath with Lauda.  Or “greatest comeback”, unless he’s going for round two with one of those strippers he was with.

He raced at eleven. Like other drivers but one Lauda.

When Tiger Woods won last month at Augusta, all the talking heads were saying it was the “greatest comeback in the history of sports”. The first I thought of was Niki. It will be a very long time if ever before we see someone go from last rights to the grid in six weeks to World Champion in a year.  Heroic stuff.

That’s why his personality was worth $4,999,999 dollars. He told it the way he saw it an never saw himself as wrong. Try being the Boeing engineer who wanted him to believe that pilot error crashed his 767. He forced them to eat their words. It’s what he did. Great story by the way.

Ron Dennis is combusting plasma-hot somewhere in an immaculate modernist home.

Kudos to the seller for presenting a clean car with polished headlights and no garbage. Those Bridgestone Duelers are great tires we had on our Santa Fe. There’s plenty of these in my Midwest market, but most have higher miles. Prices seem to range from 5000 to 8000, so this is a bit on the high side. Narrow

These trucks stock and clean are worth his asking. If that thing lived in the northeast it would have rusted away by now. I try to stay away from stuff that’s been sprinkled with the previous owners flair but wheels and a grill are easily reversible. The interior is clean and the paint is well cared for. With a little

It’s got extremely low miles because it’s only been driven to the dealership and back.

Owner decided it was actually too reliable and wanted to step up to a Range Rover.

Maybe it’s just me being paranoid, but I always hesitate when I see a car that’s only a couple of years old, with extremely low miles, up for sale. Especially a car with a history of gremlins. Did the owner experience these issues already and is just ready to move on? This a tin foil hat CP for me.

I sincerely hope they do better than last year.  I was at the international horseshoe last year on Sunday morning and watched the 55 roll to a stop while on fire.  Genuinely felt bad for those guys.

Jesus, I can’t imagine keeping that up for hours on end. Those drivers are tough as hell.

Are said parts still available cheaply? If so, this is very much NP.

Came here to say this, but you NAILED it.
