Because they still have to manufacture some sort of adversity or reason why they are either exactly like you, or actually the underdogs, because being the Greatest Football Team of the Modern Era, having the best head coach of all time and arguably the greatest quarterback ever is actually a hindrance to them, somehow.

It’s kind-of sweet to see the last great Stanford QB drafted by the Colts so broken-hearted over the most-recent one.

Eh, this dispute has literally been a thing for decades.  Just no one wanted it to interfere with the narrative that had been constructed.  Hell, it was a topic of discussion in the hobby shops I frequented back when Edition 2 was the brand new ruleset.

I think Drew’s point was that he chose to leave the NFL in what should have been the prime of his career to pursue other, non-football interests. He didn’t keep football as the #1 thing in his life, the way the powers that be want players to do.

The dude’s gonna go watch all the European soccer he can handle this fall. 

I agree with your point and think this is the NFL’s greatest fear. Parents pushing kids into other sports with lighter or no contact is the greatest threat to the NFL talent pool.

I hope that NFL players take note of the lack of empathy people have shown Andrew Luck during this entire process. Don’t feel guilty about hold-outs for more money. Get as much money as you can and get the hell out before it becomes a detriment to your health.
