I've always felt Jugulum would have almost worked better if the witches weren't involved at all. All the parts I find memorable about that one come from Oats and Igor, I feel like it would have made a fantastic stand-alone with Oats as a protagonist, a'la Small Gods or The Truth.

I think it has to do with a difference between actors who do better in a slow-burning build of establishing a character and actors who can get the whole of a personality across in a shorter time.
