The police subsequently denied that this happened. They said that he was shot from the car while standing outside. I agree that the initial report suggested a much more clear-cut story.

The popular mechanics report on that crash including the cockpit voice recorder transcripts was the single scariest thing I ever saw. I found it hard to get back on an airplane afterwards. How, oh how could they possibly have been that stupid?

I’m up to season 5, episode 15 right now. Netflix has the whole lot. I loved it when I was a kid and it is the perfect antidote to this awful election.

Thousands of words have been written about this argument. Probably pointlessly.

+1.

It’s rugby, not football. No helmets.

First to SeveinWI, see this article for a list of top caliber players getting injured in preseason games. It doesn’t just happen to rookies.

Absolutely. Ban them both. Noncompetitive, pointless preseason games that no-one cares a damn about should be banned. Particularly in the NFL where some poor guy on the roster bubble could destroy his knee and end up losing his livelihood during a stupid, vanilla play in the 3rd quarter of an irrelevant preseason

Problem is timing - not everyone’s plane is delayed at the same time. Would have to have rolling starts and multiple screens.

Do not under any circumstances use Cod. A friend of mine once spent hours squeezing limes to make a ceviche but never told the fishmonger what he was using the fish for. It turns out the Cod is full of worms (cod-worms) and that they really don’t like lime juice. So when he went to his fridge the next morning, the top

The average NFL career lasts 3 years. That’s less than the length of a rookie contract. They have to make enough money in those short years to carry them forward. I guarantee you that despite the high headline numbers for a few players, the majority of players who play briefly in the NFL will have lifetime earnings

Imagine if you went to college and graduated first in your class at whatever it is you do. Your talents are such that you could work at the top place in the world. However, because of the draft, you have to go work for a tenth of the salary in Somalia for four years.

The players aren't trying to lose, of course. Their livelihoods depend on them playing well. The owners are trying to lose so they play shitty players who, no matter how hard they try, still lose.

Boston Children’s is an amazing place. It is all designed to make the kids feel as comfortable as possible. I bring my daughter there sometimes to hang out in the lobby when I am doing a brief babysitting stint at work. The staff are the best there is.

@TheRedHoon - that is just not true. First, there is no amount of water that anyone should be drinking for their body weight or anything else. Second, one of the beautiful things about our kidneys is that we can concentrate our urine so that we can excrete wastes in as little or as much water as we want (to a limit).

Irish term meaning run over/hit by a car

That link about his son who died talks about how there was a bond between him and the Cornell coach that year because one of the Cornell players died on the field. I know it must be traumatic when your player dies and it would be hard to get over it but it is not for one single second even close to what it would be

Hey, Leicester won the Premiership and Trump is the Republican nominee. Basically, anything can happen now. We are through the looking glass.
