Watching the SG:A clips just reminds me again how perfect Joe Flanagan is for the role of Nathan Drake.
I'm starting to think that perhaps the Gawker staff owns stock in RJ Reynolds?
There are some people who are more genetically predisposed than others to be able to quit cold turkey.
Are you kidding? Think of how many page hits they're getting!
Why does it bother you so much? Frankly, sounds like you're more of a douche than that guy ever could be.
Read the article again. Right in the first paragraph.
e-cigarettes have nothing to do with "smoke", man-made or not. That's one of the reasons they're such a healthier alternative to tobacco cigarettes. What you see e-cig user exhale is just vapor, made by vaporizing propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin (even safer for glycerin based liquids).
Not to mention, if kids are going to be smoking anything, I'd rather have them smoke these harmless e-cigs rather than the real thing. It's narrow-minded, hateful people like Kat that feel like they have to embarrass people into killing themselves with disgusting tobacco cigarettes.
Blue is way overpriced. You can get e-cig starter packs at 7-11 for $20. I just refill the cartridges which saves even more money.
But the nicotine is not the worst part of a real cigarette. It's all the other crap that you're inhaling into your lungs that make it bad. Nicotine just makes you addicted so you keep smoking that crap into your lungs.
I think it would have made more sense if the universal translator just wasn't able to translate it at all.
Same here. Really took me out of the episode. Didn't make ANY sense to me, and makes it rank as one of the WORST TNG episodes in my book. Shouldn't be in this list, at the very least, when there are other much better episodes to choose from.
I should say "conventional" language, instead of "actual". Language is meant to convey information. I don't understand how the alien language in Darmok ever came into being without a more conventional language to give it it's basis.
YES. THIS is the TNG episode that should be on the list. Not fucking Darmok.
Ok, but memes and movies still use actual language. How could you make USEFUL quotes from a movie if you didn't understand what people were saying in it? Unless, perhaps, that culture was completely based on mime.
Regarding Darmok, I never understood how that other captain's language was supposed to work. Ok, so they only speak in allusions to past myths and legends... but those past myths and legends had to have been passed down and/or read as an actual language, right? Those myths and legends couldn't have been passed down…
Send it to me! I could use it! I need to replace a dead PS3.
I'm pretty sure he's asking why the article's author chose to promote the rip off video at the top of the article rather than show the original. My guess is copyright issues? Who knows. I would have rather seen the original as well, or maybe a comparison video.
How much???
