Ganz story maybe fascinating, but I would call it a stretch to call that car a progenitor of the VW. The engine is inline, transverse and ahead of the rear wheels, nothing like the VW’s longitudinal pancake engine behind the rear wheels. Also the VW had a bellypan chassis, where Ganz’ car had a backbone chassis. And

In case anyone was wondering about the Spanish being spoken, he’s saying:

how else would it chooch!?

I applaud the added detail of the wires

roof racks you idiots!

Ugh... I guess I’ll wade into this mess.

Actually Clarkson is (kinda) correct. Hydrogen is the better long-term market solution... (and that Hydrogen is electric as well). The final thing is likely a hybrid like-solution. We are not able to truly integrate plug-in mass adoption into our current grid (actually power companies are discussing pulling electrons

I think he explained it better in a more serious test (Nissan Leaf?) on old TG. Basically, if a car has a 200 mile range, and you need to charge it for 12 hours to go another 200 miles, it’s blatantly not yet fit for the purpose of a ‘general purpose’ car, the battery tech just isn’t there yet.
