Howard Bryant on Lebatard made a pretty good point about this, which was you have to look at it in the context of the league at the time. There was this sense in the front offices/league offices that the league was “too black” and this push to get white stars, which is why they were recruiting all these European

I thought this was true as a teenager, I think based on the Dukes of Hazard.

Comparing say, an 05 compact sedan to one today, today is vastly superior.

Wasn’t that a plot point though?  Philip was giving into his American sympathies, Elizabeth’s reaction was “wtf are you thinking?”  That car was supposed to be ridiculous for him to purchase.

Really brought some baggage to this huh?

Can’t believe none of these started with:  “I know you said new, but this too was new in 1957, and that luxurious bench up front is better than your couch at home.”

I’m not asking you to know anything, you asked if they were made in store.

Yeah, I mean, Danbury is fairly diverse both racially and economically.  That Stew’s might primarily serve the whiter, richer towns near it, but inside that grocery store it’s definitely not the same as her 100% white experience in Yonkers.

I’m sure there are some private label things going on but like half of a stew leonard’s building is massive kitchens. They’re making a ton of things in store all the time.

That drives me nuts, but the flip side does too.  Sometimes there’s a merge, two lanes into one.  Zipper!  There’s no reason to line up in one lane, then not let in the other lane.  It’s faster to go every other, but for some reason people think that people trying to merge are the equivalent of the line skippers.

Yeah that’s the way I see it.  But that’s an extremely weird way to stand and speak.  Even if you take for granted two rivals aren’t going to stand close together and look eye-to-eye, standing really close together, facing each other but not, and talking is still super weird.

He’s trolling

Both my car and my wife’s have more than 80k miles on leather seats that are not NEARLY that worn out. What is going on there? 73k miles is also way too early for an intermittent check engine light that no one can figure out.

Setting aside whether it’s a good idea, it’s hard for me to understand your objection to the idea that Aerosmith is “dadrock” in conjunction with the fact that you tout that it’s relevant to “dudes in their 50s and 60s.”

When we bought our 2015 335 I scoured the certified listings off the 3 year leases.  We ended up new because there was constantly almost no room for negotiation on the used, and a LOT of room at the end of year on new.  We ended up new at something like 4k over the cost of the certified equivalent.  Really baffling.

I’m down with the pup/luv (were they the same thing?) but come on:

Growing up we had a 1980ish Dodge Ram 50 pickup that was basically perfect.

There should be more green cars.

Ye know, the grill is too big and angry, obviously.  But am I the only one not opposed to returning to the vertical kidneys?  If they were better balanced with the rest of the “face” probably by shrinking them and expanding the rest, I think they could look good.

Can I make an addendum? Any street in which the developer named all the streets after said family member.
