On the range question, is anyone getting 400 miles to a charge? Is that possible?

When I sold cars, I was pretty up on everything about the cars. But knowing most answers, and getting a tough question to which you can just say “I don’t know, let’s go find out” is a really good way to build trust with a customer.

I worked at a honda dealership in college that was 95% new cars, but had a used lot. It also had an affiliated hyundai dealership. They would print flyers with good deals on used cars that they didn’t have, never had.

When I sold cars in college, a number of customers told me after the fact that they decided to buy from me when I answered a question with “I don’t know.”  People genuinely hate it when other people think they’re fooling them with bullshit.  People who peddle that bullshit believe it works.  I wish this belief wasn’t

Is there a large contingent of the market looking for big tablets in the center console? Do common buyers not like having ANY physical knobs?

They also defeat the purpose of what a lot of people are trying to achieve.  You end up short changing the jump, never getting the hips into extension because it’s more important to get those feet up.

Right. It’s not a legitimate championship if huge swaths of the field are playing under fundamentally different rules than a small subsection.

He might have needed that down payment to get 2%.

The issue with the community truck isn’t buying the truck, i’m sure these guys can all come up with a couple grand.  It’s coordinating the first major repair.  Who’s bringing it in, who’s chipping in.  Then one guy insists he could have got it done cheaper and doesn’t want to pay.  Or someone thinks it only broke

This worked this one time. Maybe occasionally. I don’t think it’s overly cynical to suggest it’s not possible to avoid all tantrums.

28-12 to 50-34 is a massive range of chain length required to drive those gears.  It’s really unsurprising it’d lock up there.

Really?

WTF is he wearing around his neck?

I don’t think it’s as bad if you binge it. I binged the whole series ... I’m not sure when, probably pretty soon after it ended. I remember the broad strokes of it, but can’t recite which season was which like many can. If you’re eagerly awaiting a new season live, you can more easily be disappointed when it’s not up

I viscerally hate this.  I actually can’t believe some dude’s random motorcycle can make me feel that strongly.

I think...I think I like it?

Vo2 max is typically expressed in mililiters of oxygen consumed per minute per kilogram, which is the unit used in the article. So you’re totally correct that the 300 pounder is using far more oxygen in absolute terms, but it’s already scaled. There are limitations to these estimates too (because they have to make

Vdot comes from Jack Daniels, a famous running coach who wrote the article containing the chart.

Garmin’s guessing based on your heartrate while you walk, but you’re nowhere near a vo2 max effort walking.  So not so much a ceiling to measuring as, you’re not putting in any maximum efforts so it has no idea what a max effort looks like.

My trainer set up is pretty involved. A bike I race on on a smart trainer, with two industrial air movers on a remote, a 42" tv low and tilted up on the sight line when in the drops, a shelf for the phone and water, etc.
