As a Philly native my first thought was race was going to be the focus as soon as I saw the headline. After reading, the marketing aspect of Harper certainly makes sense. I also think (as I said in another post) that there’s a familiarity with Harper because of the NL East tie.

Isn’t also worth noting the familiarity Philly fans had with Harper right? Playing for a fellow NL East team means they see him more often than they would have Machado?

No, I’m 100% OK with an engineering exercise that results in less than attractive aesthetics. But the more angles I see of this thing... Goodness gracious me, it is not attractive.
