My son was three when 9/11 happened. I live a few miles away from the East Coast master jet base, and sat on the floor watching the second plane hit the tower, feeling the ground vibrate beneath me as Oceana scrambled every fighter jet they had out of the base. I thought of the fact that we are surrounded by military…
So, over the summer, the gf met me at my parents’ beach cottage for a week, and our first day on the beach, a couple brings down a six-pack of cream retrievers, much like these. It was their first trip to the beach and watching then navigate sand and surf was absolutely the highlight of the week (mostly ;-) ). Anyway,…
I, too, think of the wasted years, but then I remind myself that staying gave me the ability to raise our son in a stable home with two people who love and adore him, and that he’s had a really great life. Three years ago, he hit 15 and I hit my wall, and changed my life. It caused chaos in my house and within my…
Kind of the same here. Just waiting for my kid to graduate high school and leave for college (this coming summer), and I’ve been working on an exit strategy for almost three years. There’s no abuse, we’re just not compatible, and I don’t really jibe with his 50s mentality about spouses. We haven’t been intimate in 17…
Wouldn’t that be wonderful? I got super excited about buying a new pair of fuzzy socks yesterday, and I’m not even sorry. Now if the perfect woman thing would happen...fingers crossed for you!

Oh, my 20s were a blast, and I wouldn’t have done it any differently! I didn’t get married until I was 32, and don’t regret waiting one bit.
Same. Here since 2007, when you actually had to audition, had a star....forever gray after I had to disappear for a while and kinja changed again.
Yes, they are the only proper bedtime socks, especially if they coordinate with the sexy times lingerie ;-) And back atcha!
Sometimes in the winter, I wear two pair! I cannot sleep with cold feet, and fortunately for me, my ldr finds my socks oddly erotic. Or so she told me, but you never know; she could have been saying that to make me feel better....hmmmmmm.
How DO you even live with yourself?
FUZZY socks! Cute fuzzy socks with polka dots and cows and such!
Hey, by the time I’m 70, I’ll probably be okay with someone who will color my roots, keep me supplied with moscato, and buy me blueberry muffins on Saturday mornings. I mean, we all have priorities!
