Great, thanks!

Great, thanks!

Also, for the love of god, can someone come up with something more creative than Jim Ross? Seems like its what they use EVERY friggin’ time they highlight a big hit. It’s like the way deadspin still calls a home run a “giant dong” all the time b/c (hehehehe) someone thought they were making a funny penis joke like 7

“Humans are only meant to drink milk as infants.”

Thank god some people in the comments section are interested in science and actual nutrition. This article is horrific. I’m appalled lifehacker allowed it to be put up on their site. It’s pure nonsense. It’s like telling everyone in the world that they shouldn’t eat peanuts because some people have peanut allergies,

“It’s problematic to present an opinion column as factual reporting.” It’s even more problematic when you consider the author who wrote the piece disclosed in the comments section (but not the article) that he’s ALWAYS been anti-milk. So you have someone with a preexisting personal bias taking an opinion piece and

This is absurd. People who have celiac disease should avoid gluten. People who are lactose intolerant shouldn’t have lactose. Otherwise, milk is a solid source of protein and many vitamins and nutrients. Would you also point out that people shouldn’t eat tofu or pork for protein because certain cuts of beef are BETTER

Holding down the sleep button until the “slide to power off” option comes up turns off the phone.

Man, the creature effects in the 80s were so much more unsettling than today. I can take anything from modern horror movies, but the 80's movies STILL freaks the shit out of me, and I’m 36.

Exactly. This just seems like victim blaming to me. Some people saw an old white guy living in Carolina and immediately jumped to the conclusion that a) he must be racist, and b) therefore he must have deserved to get punched for some reason. I listened to the video a dozen times and I can’t think of any other reason

Yeah, I’m sure that the victim was really throwing racial epithets at a white couple, and everyone else there was such a-holes that they all joined along in randomly throwing out inflammatory language that doesn’t even apply to the assailant. Probably dropped some derogatory terms about Japanese and New Zealanders

Exactly- as an American of Irish/English descent, that guy looks exactly like my racial demographic. I don’t see anything about that couple that says hispanic, and if you actually listen to the video there are a ton of other words that it sounds like he says that make way more sense in context.

Is there any evidence any one actually thought that guy or his girlfriend were hispanic? Listening to the tape, I’d say spic would be like guess #127 on what he said there. “Respect”, “sit back..”, etc etc. etc. all sound more likely than a racially inflammatory remark that doesn’t even seem accurate for the people

Just reread my original post to see why that’s not my point. It’s too exhausting to try to go back and forth with people online about what I actually said.

No disagreement over Silvestri. And I don’t think that Marvel’s movie music is TERRIBLE, so much as it is completely mediocre and forgettable (outside of one or two exceptions). I can recall certain movies where the soundtracks were so great that I can’t help but think of the music when thinking of the movie (The Dark

Then what’s the point of mentioning it? If you think that he’s saying spic then just say “I think he says spic”. Don’t cite to a source if you don’t want the source to be relevant to people’s interpretation of your claim.

The Cap is a good one, thanks for reminding me of that. As for the others, respectfully (and strongly) disagree. The Avengers theme always sounded to me like Marvel remembered they needed music for the movie a month before it was released, so they just hired someone to throw something together super fast. Dr. Strange

The director can say that it won’t impact people’s enjoyment. I wouldn’t be so arrogant as to make the exact same type of claim by stating that I know that other people will have their enjoyment diminished by knowing it beforehand, but if I did it would be just as subjectively legitimate as his statement. Him saying

I was not aware that Gunn had a direct pipeline into how every one will feel about everything in his movie. That quote isn’t really relevant to my comment, but okay.

Nope, I thought that too. I was like “umm, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12. What are you talking about?!”
