Not for nothing, but he’s “a” god, not “the” god. Every mythology is filled with gods who, like Jon, are limited and fallible in any number of ways.

I like a lot of the show, but it doesn’t define my personality.

Is it a hot take at this point to think that The Office had 3-4 good seasons out of 9 and is wildly overrated at this point by people who think liking the show is a shortcut for having a personality?

50% chance it’s along the lines of “not everything needs to be about race!!1!” and 50% chance it’s because there’s not enough sex scenes with Nite Owl.  

I’m in the same boat as you. I think it’s such a well-done show with that’s stayed true to the beats of the comic while taking the story in an unexpected direction that I don’t quite understand how someone could actively dislike it.  I get folks might not be in love with it, but hating it doesn’t calculate for me.  

To this day it’s incredible to look back at strips from 10+ years ago and see how crisp the dialog is and how perfectly Onstad crafted each character’s voice. It’s a masterpiece that English departments should use as a teaching tool.
