Exactly, on top o fthat most of the schools are public because they then receive federal and state money; making is a crime to defraud them, ie. defrauding the state or the federal government.
Of course it’s smaller sports, because it’s much easier to recruit someone to tennis and have them not make the team than in basketball or football.
