To your “Shallow Grave?” Ok, now that I can admit is a campy kinda bad Danny Boyle movie... However, it was his first (?) and there’s a special charm to it.

I never knew I’d find another “Sunshine” defender. Seriously, it is one of those movies you wish you could just edit and make it what it could have been. Or should have been. I am super into sci-fi and think it is a 90% solid enjoyable movie.
I can see where you are coming from. As someone who only recently started following in earnest, I defer to your “real” fandom but come on and let everyone else be excited, too!
Tidal is like those freemium apps- same model, different skin (not even that different, it’s almost identical to Spotify and others).
Well I guess that depends on who you were reading and talking to. The biggest criticism I heard was terrible branding, unclear business model, and lackluster launch after all the social media promotion.
Don’t forget that they used Radiohead’s “National Anthem” as backing music WITHOUT PERMISSION. Thom Yorke notoriously hates streaming services, making it especially egregious.
Jay Z purchased Tidal as a business venture, so it wasn’t the fact that he wanted to profit from it that bothered me. I expect a business owner to do their best to turn a profit.
This. It’s insane how many industries expect artists and others to give them free material/ labor in exchange for “exposure.” Actually, it's offensive. Good for her for commenting on it and highlighting how unfair it is for emerging artists and workers behind the scene. Sure she's a millionaire celebrity and someone…
I think the money-making side of it was when they redirect victims to a site that offers to take down the images in exchange for money. It was thinly veiled as some kind of legal representation when really it was the revenge porn site owner. Pretty sure that guy is in jail now so that angle wouldn't be effective…
Good point. Maybe this is just the beginning (fingers crossed) and it won't be worth it for hosting sites to do business with them. It's sad how unrealistic that hope may be.
Yeah, this has me conflicted. Of course I'm glad there's finally a course of actions victims can take to protect themselves. BUT, what took so long? There's already been so much damage done and it's sickening that this wasn't resolved sooner.
Finally.
;)
Finally, someone gets it! I saw all kinds of coverage about some big sport game thing and wondered if anyone would step up with the real story.
Ayesha Curry is so amazing! That’s some powerful and classy shade. I saw her post and it didn’t even dawn on me til I saw it in Shade Court. Damn!
You are so right! Healthy boundaries are vital for any relationship, but especially close friends. Wish so many of us hadn’t learned it the hard way.
