I understand the $110k original stickerb but realistically it’s a “lesser than” car (other than the retractable hard top - which I wouldn’t pay more for due to the added weight and potentially expensive complexity) compared to the corvette... so that’s really the fair depreciation comparison.

This is flat out a sexy example, in nice shape. High miles, but a fun second car, and I wouldn’t worry about much if compression checks out ok.

Why wouldn’t you blame the buyer?

Because of complimentary lines. Flattering ratios. The delicate balances that designers achieve. Style. Impression. Image.

Why can’t they just make train cars (above OR below ground) that are as wide as a reasonably long passenger vehicle?

Like all solutions to problems that don’t exist, the inherently Rube Goldberg engineering doesn’t inherently increase the value - no matter HOW much expense was wasted on that non-problem...

It was a stylish car that at least eliminated the terrible handling of the Prius, and had a nice interior, at the right price.

As hideous as that interior looks today in terms of style, at least I’m sure it’s comfortable - your legs won’t stick to it and burn on sunny days, and won’t feel like an ice cube on winter mornings, or require Rube Goldberg heaters and coolers just to work around the flaws of leather...
