Because the game doesnt run on a ladder. If the game ranked players on a ladder i would understand. Counter strike does this, but overwatch doesnt. This means the majority of players good and bad are grouped together rather than at their skill level.

except I have taken a statistics class before and I very well know what a bell curve is. That bell curve that Overwatch’s ranked system runs on is draconian in terms of the way competitive multiplayer games work.
