That’s...really not very good. Pissy Leia, faux badass ham-fisted Luke, bewildered Han and Obi-wan taking a piss? How did this get a pass?

So what if — and I’m white, so I may still be totally off-base here — the concept was instead a world where several southern states had recently been allowed to secede from the US? I feel like you could hit on a lot of the same points without coming off as exploitative.

As a former resident of Seattle and Edmonds, can confirm. I’m in the midwest now and want to claw my eyes out. Enjoy the game.

Is...is that a Japanese RoboTrump?

So maybe read the article? As it states, Carrie was always very open about her demons, addiction and mental health issues. In speaking of them, she hoped others could relate and learn something. Her daughter Billie also released a very touching public statement discussing these things. Carrie would have hated it if

Shit, I could have told you her name was Tiffany just by watching the video. That’s a goddamn Tiffany if I ever saw one.

You know, I used to love Johnny growing up. But, for the love of all that’s good in this world — and Warner Bros, I’m speaking directly to you now — recast him in the Fantastic Beasts series before it’s too late. It’s easily explainable in so many ways. His bizarre visage was the only blemish on a movie I loved (IMO,

No way! The through line of How Far I’ll Go, leading into I Am Moana, was fantastic! It may or may not have made me tear up a bit, those rumors are still unconfirmed. (Moana may also have been my favorite movie of last year. Ahem.)

Iirc, it wasn’t “God” who was killed. More if a usurper that filled the vacant role.

Unless you went to public school in Indiana, where you may have only heard about MLK and Parks in passing, like I did. I was self-educated about the others, and slavery and the abolitionist movement in general. Horrifying, no? (Note to All: If you’ve never been to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in

Lin is one of my personal heroes, and this would be amazing, but I don’t see how he could top Hollywood’s irrational hard-on for La La Land.

And “historically disenfranchised” doesn’t even really touch it. This country was built on the blood, sweat and tears of African-American ancestors, and built its wealth from their suffering. This is to say nothing for modern toils and tribulations. America’s — and the South and the Midwest in particular — ability to

I always loved Leia. She was my Princess and my first — and foremost — asskicking heroine. I just wish I’d realized how cool and funny and open and honest Carrie the person was before so close to the end.

My take: This is fucking amazing and anyone who says otherwise is a jackass.

Goddamn you, as if it weren’t bad enough already...

My wife and I are still huge fans (in our 30's), and our 7 year old was just introduced and loves it. We’re all really excited about Fantastic Beasts. We took a trip to the Wizarding World in Orlando last month, and the Potter sections were absolutely packed, with a third of the crowd dressed in robes and waving

Ding ding. We have a winner. “At the top.” “Black with white ends.” Snarky, embarrassingly dumb article is snarky and embarrassingly dumb. Nothing to see here, folks.

So as a huge Harry Potter nerd and collector of Wizarding World wands, I have to ask...What is with all the snark and derision around here with all things Fantastic Beasts? These look completely in line with the established universe. They come in all shapes and colors, and frequently reflect something of their user.

Scott Lynch’s Gentleman Bastard (my namesake!) series, beginning with The Lies of Locke Lamora, is not only my favorite fantasy series of recent years, but just one of my favorite things in general.
