Man, I'm glad SOMEONE wants to talk about the album, because I find it incredibly interesting, if somewhat flawed. Due to print deadlines, I had to write this review after spending only a day with the album, but in the past week I've been listening to it a lot and would probably bump my grade slightly to a B+.

You got me, Ntetne. I totally reviewed this using the "Is it better than Ghostbusters" standard that I apply to every piece of art I experience, and found this pop music album released in 2011 somehow better than a comedic movie released in 1984. Because as commenters on this site know and see fit to remind me on

Oooh, I like that Damian Marley duet, OTK. Dammit Bruno, why must you make this so hard??

I don't think it's a dream either. Remember, Voldemort can fly, so they'll probably just glide down to the courtyard where you see them battling later in the trailer. Just trying to add more action than them pointing wands at each other.

NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!

Thank you very much for that, Dr.

I liked her SNL performance a lot, too, which is what made me want to review this record. Unfortunately, the showy vocals and mugging that were sort of endearing on that stage are really grating on record. It's too bad, because enthusiasm like that is sorely missing in most pop music today.

Yeah, I noticed that all my witty, insightful comments—of which there were MANY, let me assure you—got cut out. It's okay, though, SOMEONE has to smile and nod knowingly in these things, might as well be me!

This got cut out of the podcast, but all of us agreed this movie treads pretty close to "so bad it's good" territory, unlike Twilight. There are definitely a lot of (unintentional) laughs. If it gets a Rifftrax (fingers crossed), I be it'll be even funnier than the Twilight ones.

Dude, it's March in Chicago, what do you want from me?

I'm not so much angry that I was sent this as angry that FOUR of my co-workers forwarded the press release to me, thus indicating that this has somehow become my "beat," which has led to a lot of sad introspection.

I considered that, but if infection through sex is the criterion, a cold could be considered an STD, ya know? I think the difference is that a YI can occur independent of any sexual activity… it's just a bacterial infection. Anyway, it was just a dumb joke.

FWIW, I generally like Gaga and her music, and I do think she is a true, outspoken advocate of GLBT rights. (And she herself is apparently bisexual, so.) My issue with the song—which I still like well enough, as evidenced by the grade—is that it comes off somewhat calculated, and Gaga seems very self-congratulatory

What Senor said.

You'd have to get the book (BY OUR BOOK) to get the full list, but the qualifier here is just "hilarious," not "ironically hilarious." The full list includes everything from Reefer Madness to Trainspotting to Super Troopers. It's not just poorly conceived, early-80s anti-drug specials.

Well then Friday's gonna be a good day for you. We've changed to a monthly schedule with TWP, last Friday of the month.

No condolences necessary. I feel compelled to say that, although this was by no means a good movie, I enjoyed the experience of going to see it, if only because it's the only time I've ever been to a movie where dozens of teenage girls waved glowsticks in the air during concert footage. Whether you like Bieber or
