I’m Old, and have read many books, but SK has always been my favorite author. He turns a wonderful phrase- when I’m reading his words, I can SEE the scene, the characters, the monsters! And he can come up with storylines that haven’t been done to death- Under the Dome, Cujo, The Stand, so many others.

I read a good chunk of ‘The Stand’ in one 12 hour stretch the first (and only) time I took acid.

My absolute favorite, and one of my favorite books period, is King’s “The Stand.” A post-apocalyptic story that you cannot believe was written in 1978, still really prescient and one of the great precursors of the post-apocalyptic genre boom.

Willow is up there with Ladyhawke for deliciously delightfully bad 80s Fantasy movies.
