Thanks for coming on the podcast, Stephen! Glad I could geek out with another Pikmin fan. I truly hope the series returns within the next year or so. And I hope everyone checks out Challenger Approaching. I’ve had a great time researching each episode and talking to all my special guests.
Not the biggest DK buff myself, but K. Rool was a pleasant surprise regardless!! I’m happy that they’re not skimping on new characters, and they sure do have some choice ones in store.
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Hm, I sleep badly, too. It maybe has something to do with watching youtube videos late at night, but when I try to cut back on that I generally just feel restless and awake and if I’m restless and awake... well, time to watch some youtube videos.
I’m never able to go to sleep at an early time; it’s pretty much always midnight at the earliest when I am able to pass out after lying down, and it could still take a while before I reach unconsciousness. Once I am asleep, however, I stay that way and wake up refreshed. I had been a pretty troubled sleeper for most…
I was just talking to my friend about that yesterday when I saw a Launch trailer for Spider-Man and DQ. I was like “but those come out in like three months” looks at the calandar and see its more like three weeks... looks at my bank account post bill payment and... fuuuuuuccccccckkkkkk... But Spider-Man and Dragon…
Only DQXI, if I had to buy just one game for the rest of the year. Which might actually be a thing that happens to me.
It would be Mega Man 11.
I’m a kickstarter backer of this. I love what he’s going for and I dig the retro PC Adventure game vibe it’s all wrapped in.
I like this, the gameplay reminds me a lot of OlliOlli, except with wanton marsupial destruction.
This wasn’t a leak, this was an official statement at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra, and they have more news in the coming week
When Great Detective Pikachu came out in Japan a couple of years ago, it was the kind of thing memes were built for. It was a mystery game starring a talking Pikachu that sounded like a chain-smoking 40 year old. There was speculation on who should play the titular Pokemon when the game got localized, but alas, the…
I was around for all of it. I think from a pure level-design perspective, the newer DKC’s knock it out of the park. I think DKC2 and DCKTF run a dichotomy between fine-tuning their respective prequels.
The keyboard-y music in the Rotten Vale always reminds me of Goblin’s music from Suspiria.
Bagel Goose <3 Always joining the party. He just wants a little love~
“Murmurs of the Land Forbidden” is the best track in the game! The intro synth is awesome and very 70s prog rock.
I’ll get on topic in a sec, but first:
Definitely a goodie. I think of the returning themes in Monster Hunter World his is my favorite.
Rotten Vale and Vaal Hazak are probably my favorites in the game. The recent addition of Kulve Taroth is especially good, especially how each phase ramps up the pace of it to match the escalating danger. The final phase also has a bit of Zinogre’s theme to it.
Monster Hunter: World is chock full of fun given its potential for multiplayer shenanigans. Yes, its battles are epic—hunting down fearsome monsters takes patience and discipline. But you know what else is great? The music which scores its brilliantly strange world, and its collection of crazy monsters’ theme songs.
