My response is one of the many words coined by The Simpsons.

Growing up, Paterno was God in my house. We didn’t go to church.
I’m a Penn State alumnus and I was totally on board with Paterno’s downfall. My position then was that he could not have possibly been ignorant about what was going on, not with so many victims and over so much time. Furthermore, Joe Paterno ran Penn State, the buck stopped with him, nobody had more power at that…
On the other hand, the sky isn’t blue. It just appears blue.
As a Penn Stater, I always held out a little hope that Paterno truly didn’t know and that he was telling the truth but i always acknowledged that it was a real possibility that he did. This just confirms it for me. Fuck that guy.
I defended JoePa to anyone who would listen. He was a God to folks where I was born in Central Pa. This case is horrifying and these details are damning. I am not sure how anyone can still defend him, sadly.
I fully expect Jay Paterno or some other dipshit in the family to come out with some version of #1 and 2 combined before the end of the day. All the mouth breathing Paternoites will line up behind him singing the chorus.
Working on a college campus in NE PA - I can confirm that so far they are going with option 1.
Changing your opinion on something based on new facts presented is something an intelligent mind does. If you were still defending PSU at this point (even before these most recent items came to light) it’s pretty safe to say you’re not in that category.
So if you’re an unwavering JoPa supporter, do you:

Doesn’t take too many to make a big fucking impact. That “Us vs. Them” mentality that reframed torture isn’t just for brown people.
I seriously hope that, on his day with the Cup, Phil just sits on a lawn chair outside of Steve Simmons’ house and eats hot dogs out of the Cup all day long.
As long as you only read the stat line, this is a valid criticism.
It's cliche, but he impact was felt beyond the box score. Plus the trophy is for the entirety of the playoffs, not just the finals. Plus Toews was another forward to recently win the award without scoring a goal in the finals. In short, it's OK
If you actually watched the series, you know Crosby was the best skater on the ice every game. It won’t show up on the stat sheet, but he out skated and out grinded the Sharks, and created the most opportunities. Pens don’t win the Cup without Crosby.
Crosby winning the Conn Smythe over Kessel is the only thing preventing Toronto from burning to the ground by dawn.
If I’m Phil Kessel, I’m taking out a full-page add in the Toronto Sun which would read “KISS MY ASS, STEVE SIMMONS. Signed, Phil Kessel, Pittsburgh Penguins.”
