I’m pretty sure online shopping is a thing. Last time I was in Tokyo I saw a lot of delivery trucks regularly around where I AirBnB’d. I also see lots of tweets of people regularly getting items online.

It actually looks like a lighter version of [Kingsglaive] General Glauca’s armor.

that’s good to know. I might buy one in the next couple months (all my friends seem to own one after this year’s E3 too.)

Yeah, and I don’t blame you. Nioh’s parry windows are really weird, on top of being strict.

Yeah, I understand. Codec was fine for me for MGS1 because it was fairly new at the time, and still made sense to some degree. MGS2 and 3, I was okay because there was enough amusing banter and some fourth-wall breaking material that instructions via codec still fit the context.
MGS4 and MGS5, it felt too forced, with

It’s definitely more of a dex-build player’s game. The general strategy’s to bait enemies into attacking, break their ki, and deal criticals. Strength builds are still viable, but it’s better to master counter/parries instead of trying to absorb enemy attacks.

That’s how I felt when I started playing. But nearing the end game, I realized that hoarding low-level scrap wasn’t worth it. Selling them for cash gives you very little coin, and the weapons you craft with them are pretty low-tier. Also, the power of the affixes you could transfer are usually tied to their rarity, so

Well, I’m an adult and I’m considering buying one at that price point. :)

Saying something is a bummer usually just means there’s something that you were looking forward to, but got disappointed by; an expectation that wasn’t fulfilled.

Aye. with platformers, level design is among the most important aspects of the game. It’s the thing that will get you to replay the game, even without rewards like achievements/trophies and whatnot.

XD
Seriously, I’m so tempted to buy a Switch next time my budget allows, even if it’s just for the platformers (oh, and Atlus games.)

Completely agree. It’s why I was more disappointed than anything else.

I just consider obvious gameified elements as a constant for Metal Gear games, some level of self-awareness that it’s a game. Although it only got used humorously well with MGS3's codec calls, including the wtf with the glowcaps.

I hope the handheld ports would come out with no more problems.
I’m just glad IntiCreates managed to do the Mighty Gunvolt games to give Beck & co. some dignity back, and hopefully give them a future. (MN9's mechanics are fine, but the level designs save for one were average at best.)

Snake does, but in the context of MGS2's story, this seems to be more about Raiden’s mindset than his combat ability.

What specific inexperience do you mean? The only thing he lacked was experience dealing with human variables (and morality to some extent) because of how long he’s trained with sterile VR missions and because he wasn’t raised to interact with people normally.

That point about Raiden’s past was really covered in Revengeance (not 100% remembering if he was a soldier, but he did grow up in a warzone.) So it wasn’t just the VR missions that desensitized him; he did have a lot of childhood trauma.

Yeah, I love Clamp (weird shoujo manga proportions aside lol.) Hadn’t read/watched much of their stuff lately though... I think I should try catching up. XD

hahaha yeah. Nobody remembers Magic Knight Rayearth, Hell Teacher Nube, Cardcaptor Sakura, Ranma 1/2, Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho etc. They only “remember” them when there’s some nth-year anniversary promo happening, then once it’s over they immediately forget.
I’d probably have to live in Japan as a native to

Now playing

Yeah. The strangest thing? The person I said who knows the things, she’s like 5-10 years younger than me, and she knows/remembers shows that I grew up watching back in the 80s/90s. More of a special exception.
Related to that, here’s an interview with Yuu Asakawa from AniRevo.
