I tend to bounce off JRPGs pretty hard nowadays, but the first MH Stories was an overlooked little gem of a game that I had a great time with. It’s open world PokeMonster Hunter, that’s not a complaint.

Did your mind just explode into a cacophony of disco sounds because Dave legit just dropped a bomb on us (pun completely intended)?!
Walmart just had another batch of PS5s go up, and bots killed the stock in seconds.
This whole generation has, so far, been a total shitshow.
Not only did you have to be a Pro member, but chances of actually getting any of the bundles seemed left to some kind of random lottery. I sat on the Digital bundle with the extra controller and ps+ card for an hour and a half, refreshing after every click, and not only did the add to cart button seemingly not work…
She’s a bad singer, bad songwriter, she was seemingly a terrible wife, and by all accounts an abysmal mother. Courtney Love is a truly awful person who should do the world a favor and shut the fuck up forever.
I do love that Nintendo, forever out of touch with how the internet works, decided no co-streams last possible minute, throwing tons of streamers schedules out of whack, and most just went “fuck ‘em” and did it anyway.
This sounds less like some big, scandalous exit, and more like a dude who realizes he doesn’t want to spend another decade at Ubi working on gigantic, open world licensed titles.
If he sucks and abused people on his teams, fuck him, good riddance.
If not, and he’s just headed for greener pastures, godspeed.
They don’t have a dedicated SW studio, it’s Massive, who do The Division and are developing the Avatar game. They have multiple teams working on different projects, Star Wars being one.
As far as EA goes, their exclusivity deal is over and done, though they’re still doing other Star Wars stuff, like the Fallen Order seq…
That’s awesome to hear! I’ve seen a handful of people say the same thing, that they’ve never played or been interested in Metroid, but Dread looked super cool. Hopefully, fingers crossed, being on Switch is enough to get some otherwise uninterested folks to give it a shot.
For the record, I didn’t love Samus Returns. I…
I think it was their best yet, you’re in for a treat!
The entirety of the Capcom show could have been a two paragraph blog post.
That’s precisely what I’m hoping for! The attach rate for Switch is huge, so I could absolutely see Dread being the first game in the series to really break through.
That said, Oct is a big month, and I could just as easily see it being overlooked for more marquee stuff like Far Cry 6, Back 4 Blood, Battlefield, and…
It’s not, though, since it’s all up to personal taste. Clearly Luke doesn’t care about Metroid, like a lot of people. Discounting Samus Returns (since it’s a remake) and Other M/Federation Force (since everyone hates them), there hasn’t been a new mainline entry since Prime 3 back in 2007. That’s 14 years without a…
Nintendo and indies were the only good things to come out of the show this year. IMO, Devolver stole the whole thing with Trek to Yomi alone.
Metroid is my all time favorite series in gaming by a long ways...but, by all accounts, Metroid games don’t sell. They never have, unfortunately. It’s insanely popular with us, the diehard fans, and apparently no one else.
Yep!
I’m still scratching my head as to why half of the publishers even bothered to show up this year when they had nothing to show. Koch Media and Gearbox specifically come to mind, since they literally had NOTHING and wasted everyones time, but there were so, so, so, so many streams that were just talking heads…
They’ve confirmed that it connects to the PS5 via a single cable, but the wording on that announcement seemed very specific to give themselves some room. I don’t expect it to be able to run without connecting to a PS5, but that would be a huge win if it does. A headset that’s essentially Sony’s answer to the Quest…
The EMMIs are 100% Federation, confirmed. Samus is absolutely rogue, and they’re hunting her.
Heads up, that’s Hiroshi Nagahama, the director, in the video.
