This is great advice, and my son taught me this when he was 5 or 6. On the way to the doctor he asked me if he was getting a shot and I told him the typical line of, “Yes, but it won’t hurt a bit.” His response was, “Why do you always say that when you know it isn’t true?” I felt horrible.

It might be? Honestly, I’d love to write a full guide on Ubiquiti gear, just to demystify the experience for people who are nervous about their gear. We run Ubiquiti access points at home here, and they’re delightful.

I suspect that is because Ubnt is more enterprise grade hardware over the easy to use commercial stuff you find at Best Buy types stores.  I have a Ubnt mini AP, works great, but configuring it while easy for me (I am an IT Security specialist), can be rather confusing for avg joe, at least if you want to do anything…

Is that a Ubiquiti image - on Lifehacker? Thats the first mention on Lifehacker I’ve seen on the Ubiquity brand. Always disappointed that the ‘best WiFi router’ and similar posts have ignored Ubiquiti and Mikrotik (and others) over the Consumer grade routers that are sold on over hyped marketing claims.

I don’t think giving the police the option to charge people for calling 911 would work out for the best in the long run. They have a history of, uh... abusing power.
