Yeah, if he’s willing to go to court over $60 I doubt he has an extra hundo lying around.

I know, right!? When those studies started coming out I was blown away, but it jived with what my gut had said for years. If a kid isn’t exposed to a thing how can he develop tolerance for that thing? They’re telling pregnant and nursing mothers to eat lots of peanuts now, which is good, but it’s too late for all the

No doubt. The LW sounds like a young kid who thinks “Small Claims Court” means “Magic Money Redistribution Court.” Hopefully he gets to learn the truth without learning it the hard way.

Everything I read about Elio just breaks my heart. Potential felonious intentions of the founder aside, the idea of a cheap, fuel-efficient vehicle designed as a commuter car and nothing else appeals to me greatly. I’ve been following the company for years, but I never gave them a penny because I never felt certain

still feel bad for being such a dick yesterday

Yeah, the flip can be tricky. One trick I learned was to cook them in a generous amount of oil, then when the one side was cooked just scoop the hot oil on top of the egg and it kinda cooks the top a little. It’s like halfway between OM and SSU. I don’t do it anymore because of the amount of oil it takes. Also I got a

Dang, that sucks. Sorry that happened to you. Thanks for sharing.

And your response is a whole lot of denial.

I did sunny side up for a few years before I discovered “over medium.” That is my jam. Gimme some over medium, dry toast, and Salsa Valentina.

My understanding is that in Europe they prepare their eggs much more runny than in the US. I grew up on eggs that were pretty dry, but after having them a bit more moist a few times I found I really liked it. My wife and kids don’t like it that way, though, so I end up eating them dry unless I’m only making them for

...but these days I just...

True, but the main point is that a judgment isn’t guaranteed AND it’s a ton of work just for the maybe sorta possibility of recovering $60.

This would be almost impossible to prove to the court’s satisfaction, and they would almost certainly throw it out because of the laughably small amount being disputed.

There are plenty of people I would pay much more than that to never deal with again. Unfortunately at least one of them is a boss of mine.

How would anyone be reasonably expected to know another person’s bank information unless they were married or in a relationship?

A couple thousand seems kinda high to me, but I get your point. I would put it at around $500 for my situation, but then again I’ve never had to deal with courts over more than a couple of speeding tickets so that number would probably go up sharply after going through the rigamarole.

Yeah, college kids are not known for their maturity or perspective. Sounds like you did the best you could and just ended up living with a couple of turds for a while.

I genuinely want to hear this story so:

The “principle” for you is to spend hours and hours of your limited time on Earth to get back at someone for something as petty as $60? Do you also follow everyone who cuts you off on the freeway out of “principle?” Do you spend hours pursuing justice against the people who cut in line at Disneyland rather than just

I honestly wish I had been part of the AVC community before they merged with Gawk- uh... Univizmodo? I don’t know what we’re calling it now, but the AVC community is what I had been hoping to find on the Gawker sites (mostly Kotaku and io9) but never really did. Now that the merger dragged you down into this pit at
