Oh that is GENIUS. Call it a catchup day. I love this so much.

Part of my job is remote support for audiovisual and IT systems at my company. It’s a small-ish company, but we have over 40 locations I service and I’m the only one who can handle my particular niche (again, small company). These issues are usually time-critical because the on-site staff is preparing to meet with…
That’s great for your situation, but not every work environment is the same. I couldn’t get away with that at my job either, but if I worked somewhere that was accepted you better believe that would be my auto-reply.
I mean, that’s usually what the problem is, though?
I wouldn’t dare. I grew up on Square One and will relish the day when I can show it to my kids and watch them squirm at the outdated references, cheesy aesthetic, and antiquated format. Mmmmmmmm... parenthood is gonna be sweet that day, my friend.
Good insights. Thank you for sharing. I honestly see “stealing our jobs” as the absolute bottom item on my list of reasons, if it’s even there at all. Flow of drugs is a concern, but I don’t see it as being nearly as big an issue from Canada because I’ve seen the cartels’ presence and influence first-hand in Mexico.…
Your avatar just flooded my brain with nostalgia. I may disappear into the YouTube void for a few hours.
I think the scene where he shoots the wife in the arm works because it shows just how desperate he is and it’s making him numb. His daughter was taken (get it?) and nothing matters to him until he gets her back safely. He purposely shot her in a place that would heal with minimal discomfort (for a gunshot wound) but…
Well you’re good men. Kudos for that.
There’s a name or disorder for everything nowadays. Bottom line is you’re right. It’s not fun. She runs her daughter (my wife’s mother) ragged with all her complaints and trips to the doctor and need for attention and long-winded phone calls. Her family is genuinely concerned no one will have anything nice to say…
Well you made a tough decision for the good of your family and the sake of your mental health. I think people don’t get enough recognition for things like that, but in my mind it’s akin to running a rabid wolf out of your house.
That sounds rough, but you seem to be finding the silver lining which is an admirable trait.
See, smelling good is the one scientifically proven thing they can do. Buying them for that is totally fine. We have a diffuser we used for the peppermint during my wife’s nausea and it was a godsend. We also used a decongestant oil in the same diffuser when our boys got sick, but realized VapoRub worked better.
I think most of the comments are forgetting that the article is aimed specifically at online dating profile pictures and the ensuing dates. In general I say wear a hat if you want, but in your profile pic if it’s specifically designed to hide your baldness it’s probably a bad idea.
I don’t think it’s discriminatory based on skin tone. All other things being equal, if Mexicans had white skin I would still want to secure the border because of the damage unchecked illegal immigration can cause, does cause, and has caused. If I found out a Canadian, Irish, or Australian citizen was here illegally…
The placebo effect, selective memory, and survivorship bias are powerful tools, FAR more powerful than what’s in those oils.
Cancer sucks. I’m sorry you’re going through that. Great advice, though. Everyone seems to want to be the one with the magic bullet cure and everyone’s got a story to share. Truth is science points to a handful of treatments that have documented success rates that outpace the controls. Oils and drops and creams and…
My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was living in another state at the time and we were told he had ~6 months left. They didn’t catch it early (prostate cancer, get checked), and my dad didn’t want to fight it with chemo or radiation. He said he’d rather have a few months that were good than maybe a year that…
