My rule is if a woman is standing because there are no other seats available I offer her mine. If she’s standing despite some seats being available I don’t bother because I assume she has other reasons for standing. I don’t care if she’s pregnant or not.

I find nothing wrong with the article. It’s you. You seem to have taken a particular interest in my parenting by commenting repeatedly based on assumptions you’ve made. Now that you’ve inevitably realized that you DID jump to conclusions based on nothing at all you’re worming your way out of admitting it by changing

Yeah, because it pisses me off when someone who knows nothing about me takes such a condescending view with zero interest in reality, as exemplified beautifully by the fact that you couldn’t even bring yourself to read my post. Horrified by the prospect of acknowledging that you’re wrong, huh?

You’ve known nurses! Good! Then you’ll know that a great deal of nurses work 3 12-hour shifts per week, which is legally full-time.

You don’t know many nurses, do you? Also, please reference the rest of my comment where I stated that I’ve worked full time and then some the entire time we’ve had kids, whereas she’s done full time, part time, and VERY part time at various points in our marriage.

I’ve never heard of “spade” being used as a racist slur. Interesting. Thanks for the clarification.

Full time in her profession is three days a week, and she hasn’t worked full time the entire time we’ve had kids. In my job it’s 5-6 days a week and I’ve worked full time all the time ever since the kids were born, not to mention the time I spend on the road for work. That adds up to thousands of hours more experience

That’s the exact question I’d like some opinions on. If we, as a modern society, came across another modern society where the only perceivable difference is their attitude toward rape, would we be justified in taking action against it? Would we perhaps even have an obligation to do so?

I fully support basic gun safety education being taught in schools. It wouldn’t have to be a full course, just a periodic reminder of some kind. Unfortunately you’re as likely to convince most democrats to fund this as you are to convince a republican to fund Planned Parenthood.

As long as dismissive sarcasm is going to be the language you prefer, I submit this: That “Fuck Them” attitude seems to be working really great for you so far. Republicans control every major governing body in the federal government right now and they managed to elect what I consider to be one of the worst human

I’m going to comment on your post to zeel: There are groups that do all the terrible things you say. That, however, is not everyone on the other side of the aisle. Ask me how many anti-abortion protests I’ve been to, or how many Planned Parenthood clinics I’ve bombed, or how many abortion doctors I’ve murdered. That

You’re 100% on all accounts. I have my moral position for my own reasons, but I always try to discuss such topics on another person’s familiar grounds because A) Trying to validate my morals in their eyes is difficult enough without ALSO trying to validate the reasons behind my morals and B) Trying to discuss things

The flip side of that is if you do think something is offensive a quick mention is the best way to go about it. Someone might come from somewhere where that was totally fine, but if you’re not ok with it just let them know. It doesn’t mean they’re a bad person or they’re intentionally maligning a group of people, it

I say know your audience. If you’re with a group who thinks it’s fine, go for it! If you know that ultra-sensitive friend is going to be there, well, find a better party. And maybe a better friend?

Those are some serious logical leaps. From “I’m not offended by drunks in sombreros” to “Let’s murder and entire race of people.”

I would hope they’ve figured out some improvement for it. Still, Smash Bros on the go on a $150 machine? That’s pretty tempting.

That sounds right to me. Yeah, .308 is a heck of a round. Glad he’s ok.

No, it isn’t morally inconsistent, you just don’t know how to argue against it. Basically it comes down to how much you value the life of the fetus against the bodily autonomy of the mother in each scenario. To those on the extreme “pro-life” side the life of the fetus trumps absolutely everything. To those on the

I’d be fine with games like Pokemon getting dual releases, but if it’s a classic-style Pokemon game it would suffer from being on ONLY the switch. As great as the switch is, it’s not TRULY a portable because there’s no built-in screen-protecting lid, it’s too big to fit in an average pocket, and it’s expensive to be

That’s called the Switch.
