RetroPie is amazing.

Agreed! My first Pi became a RetroPie console immediately and it’s the best money I never spent on a NES Classic. If Nintendo hadn’t been crap at inventory management they would have gotten my money and I would have been the poorer for it. As it is I’m diving back into FFVI, Secret of Mana, and all the other classics

My mother in law had two vaginal births and then a c-section. She is an enthusiastic cheerleader of C-sections precisely because her recovery was so much shorter, smoother, and less traumatic. YMMV, but blanket statements are rarely accurate.

My wife gave birth almost 4 years ago to twins. She and her doctor agreed that a C-section would be the best and safest route. The night before we went out for a VERY nice steak dinner and dessert, got a full night’s sleep, woke up and went to the hospital, and had our boys. They were a bit premature so there was a

I’m 32 and if I’ve lived this long without knowing a thing, I figure I shouldn’t be embarrassed to ask about it. Also I genuinely stopped caring what strangers think of me in almost all situations, so I got that going for me.

I’m right there with you. I’ll probably only ever play this thing in handheld mode, in bed, after the kids (and probably my wife) are asleep. I may dock it to play on the TV once in a blue moon, but I’m planning on this as mostly a handheld device.

Do your coworkers ever see you writing articles like this and assume it’s your passive-aggressive way of calling them out on their crap? “How to deal with your boss when he’s a big huge stinking idiot who should be getting you coffee instead of setting unrealistic deadlines, Steve.”

Even legit retailers are charging $10 for shipping the thing. That’s ridiculous.

Interesting thing that jumped out at me looking over the map: Basically the map is showing you where state schools are the most expensive relative to community colleges. The states with the greatest savings (read: most expensive state/private schools?) seem to be the more liberal-leaning states like California,

Same thing some vegans get out of informing everyone they’re vegan: self-satisfaction.

I’m a level 5 vegan. I don’t eat anything that casts a shadow. Also I pocket-mulch.

I bought a pair of these and the build quality seems top notch. I haven’t gotten to test them on an airplane yet (which is really the only useful place for the noise-cancelling capabilities), but I’m pleased with them so far.

I’m hoping to use a spare monitor I have lying around, strap a pi zero to the back and use it as a dedicated IP webcam monitoring station so I can keep an eye on the kids in the basement. Eventually I’d like to monitor a few cameras at once. Anyone know if/how this would be possible? NOTE: The extent of my experience

Yeah, I know what the saying means. That wasn’t my issue with your statement.

Like I said, we live in a world where the squeaky wheel gets the grease. The only way to “fix” that is to move entirely away from capitalism where companies are motivated to placate angry customers. That, though, sounds like a solution far, far worse than the problem.

That’s totally fair. Honestly, though, I don’t think this thing will ever be able to play Wii U games. A lot of the best ones are being re-released on the Switch as updated-remixed-remastered-whatever editions, though, so that’s nice. We’ll just see how everything comes together.

That’s a fair policy. I have other devices that will fill those gaps for me until Nintendo updates this thing. My laptop, my iPad, my phone, and my other laptop are always in my bag with me, and even if the Switch had all those features it still wouldn’t replace any of them in my bag. The only time I’ll really take

Holy crap. If you tell a doctor you’re allergic to a medication and he pushes it anyway you need to ask him for the HR department or have your lawyer send a letter or something because that just cannot happen. Yeah, doctors are in a rush but if you tell them point blank and they don’t hear you they need some

If it’s not a bad thing, how is it beating a dead horse?

I think “safe” used in this context implies “relatively safer.” You could make an argument that there is literally no “safe” place for money to be. Banks can be hacked, the federal government could collapse, your cash could burn up, your gold could be stolen, etc.
