I had to stop watching because it was the catalyst to bring my depression BACK. The show is great but wow it made me fall deep into a hole.

I don’t know about “weird”. It’s painting a broad brush though...
I watch the tier system in street fighter shift dramatically when one person comes in with a low tier character and mops the floor. The entire meta shifts. Fighting game pro players just have too much tunnel vision and they do everything they can to remove imagination and innovation in an effort to gate keep. Yeah…
That showed nothing...
I actually know quite a lot about competitive gaming, though I’ll admit I’m not especially good at most fighting games. I tended to do better with shooters. Regardless though, making the comparison with MMA is a little absurd because humans don’t have move sets. Some have tells but they aren’t always 100% reliable and…
smash players are so precious. They want everything hyper optimized to make the game completely unsurprising. First they cut down to no items. Then they cut down stages to Final Destination. Then they cut down undesirable characters who “randomize” (not to mention defensive characters like Jigglypuff). It actually…
Well and I think SE probably needs to hedge on this. There may not be a part 2....though wow that would be terrible if that’s the case. I wonder if they’ll make the game have an ending of sorts with the escape being the climax. The game was/is probably extremely expensive to make and if sales don’t hit right they…
FF7 Fans are well aware of the remake and everything around it. I don’t think you’re going to have rando looki-loos picking this up on a lark who played it in the past. Plenty of newcomers I’m sure, but anyone who played it when they were younger either LOVED it, or HATED it, and the people who LOVED it know whats up.…
I mean, it was not just one job. It was many jobs. So while I don’t think people pay 29% of their income, I DO think a lot of people go without health insurance because their only option is 29%. This was before obamacare though so maybe that’s reduced cost? Maybe....
It may be true actually. Back when I was hourly I totally ditched healthcare (this was before the obamacare mandate) because it was about 1/3 of my pay.
I had that game on a PC Junior. I remember being disappointed in just HOW HARD it was to have a meltdown and I asked a real nuclear physicist who worked on a real nuclear reactor why. His explanation was that, to do what happened in Chernobyl, you’d have to go out of your way to make every single bad decision and turn…
Gravity Falls is a nostalgia trip. It’s absolutely geared more towards adults. It’s perfectly kid appropriate and kid enjoyable, but geared toward adults. And yes nostaliga is a drug, but it’s one that 90s and 00s kids didn’t really get to experience related to cartoons. Because the cartoons just weren’t up to the…
I never understood why you’d make an arcade but hate kids.
omg I visited Alladin’s Castle as a kid. That place was pretty nice!
it was pretty common arcade culture. I experienced it a ton in the rural midwest but my friends on the BBS in LA and OC at the time had even worse stories than me. Actually because of the stories from people on BBS my mom wouldn’t let me go with my brothers anymore and required an adult with me at all times.
you were very lucky!
I just meant the beautiful well manicured well curated arcade. Even at Gameworks crowds come in and erupt in cheers when someone is going after a kill screen.
we only had 3-4 options in rural midwest.
I had a friend who ran one in Seattle for a long time. IT IS HARD to find someone. The market for arcade machines is just picking up but the skilled labor largely left so the market for the labor hasn’t kept up. An owner has to be good at maintaining the machines themselves but you already have the demands of…
those are three great cartoons that stand out, and they’re more geared towards adults than kids. You just don’t have the options now that you used to, that’s all. There was a magic about the cartoons back in the day.
