I loved the arcades, but didn’t love getting shoved around and treated like shit.  Definitely getting introduced to some great rock and metal was awesome though.

The vibe in those pre-teen focused arcades SUCKED in my opinion, but wow were they safe, the machines were clean, and nobody shoved or punched me. I made some friends there too. But I loved the darkened arcades with the neon lights and blaring rock. I’m glad times have changed because the ambience is 50% of the fun

jeez the cartoons were so amazing. We live in the golden age of television right now, but the cartoon quality for kids is NOT there. I watched saturday morning cartoons recently and was like “what is this stuff?!” I get why YouTube is way more popular with that age demographic now.

one of the most unrealistic things about Tron Legacy was Flynn’s arcade :-)

as a kid growing up arcades were horrible. I would try to go as often as possible, but arcade owners seemed to have distain for kids, and teenagers would shove me around all the time and act like assholes. Fights broke out, A LOT. The arcade resurgence now is amazing because it’s an idealized version of what we all

I mean that said, I know some people who lived with their parents well into their 20s.  When I was done with college my parents were fine with me living at home but there was immense pressure from friends and family friends to get out and be on my own.  So I did it.  I really regret it because I could have worked

even in LED they’re somewhat wasteful because they don’t really generate light.  They’re 100% asthetic.  Which is fine!!!  again I love them, but yeah they’re totally wasteful.

saving for my list of dad jokes.  Thanks!

yeah his religious belief is he can’t eat with any woman who’s not his wife unless she’s there...  I bet he couldn’t have any women reporting to him either at work.  uhg.

the chairs are very inexpensive and VERY durable. If you dent them or ding them, it doesn’t alter the asthetic of the chair or the restaurant. Your eyes are drawn away from them so you don’t even really notice them until you actually have to sit in them.

I was playing the game last night and running around giving gifts to people and doing some sort of fishing mission where we’re supposed to impress the green haired kid with the biggest fish, and Bernadetta starts unloading with that story. My wife stops what she’s doing and turns around and gives me this look like

my mom had 4 boys. we had dolls, and action figures. I remember we built essentially doll houses for our TMNT figures. We were not allowed to have guns, but we definitely made every stick we found into guns. The only joke she really made was that some households have a huge fight over putting the toilet seat down. As someone who gets anxiety bad, I see my wife get torn up by it.  She wants to help so bad and I tell her the things shes doing DO help (because they do) but she can get frustrated that they don’t fix the problem.  And when it rears up again she feels like she failed somehow.  It’s tough trying to explain that it’s

I thought that article was ASSUMED by her, but under a pen name...

If GM had record growth and innovation during that time then we’d be singing a positive tune.  Much like for Amazon.  But GM doesn’t tend to do that.  And now they’re paying out the nose to contract out the EV innovation because they finally see the writing on the wall.

wow don’t open up those tweets.  The twitter pages are quite NSFW :(

odd. There never was a debate. Cool Ranch is infinitely superior.

Almost all chinese food in my city is terrible. There are a few really bright shining stars, but otherwise it’s pretty bad. My old rural hometown had wayyyyy better Chinese food.

This happens in non-rich areas too. I remember in port angeles (Washington) people paint red on the curb in front of their houses. SO MANY in consistent spots painted red. I also had a spot across from my old apartment in cap hill that was painted red by the apartment complex. I even had a cop out there ticketing me

It’s amazing to me that the kid was like “I’m 13 years old and this man is assaulting me”. That’s like trained and rehearsed. Like that kid knows they live in a world where they need to be collected and VERY clear even while a grown man is beating the shit out of them for fear that cops or onlookers will just sweep it
