You are contradicting yourself. This is how social acceptance is created. A good majority of people's opinions on societal norms come from entertainment. No one is shoving it down your throat or yelling at you about it. They are creating awareness and trying to bring a sense of normalcy to a life style that is still

Disney bought Marvel in 2009, so long before the Avengers, Cap, and Thor. It is the same situation with Lucas. Lucas Films still exists as a studio, with Kennedy as the head, just like how Kevin Feige is still the head of Marvel Studios. The fact that you had to do any research to look up Disney's involvement in

So all the Marvel movies from Phase I must of sucked then huh? In addition everything from Phase II looks like crap right? What logic are you basing your smug opinion on? If anything, Disney have proved they can handle a Studio they purchased.

When it comes to a game, like Transistor (or their earlier game Bastion), I appreciate their multiplayer view. Whereas multiplayer is typically competitive in nature, I am always excited to see how a developer tries to incorporate multiplayer in a way that enhances the experience and lends to a sense of a shared

My bad for reading that wrong then :) I do agree though with your point on public reception, even among my long time gamer friends we have this discussion many times.

AC's release schedule is a different situation than COD. Mainly because they use different development teams. AC 3 had a 3 year Dev cycle, Black Flag had a 2 year dev cycle, that is much different than what we get out of COD (minus what IW did).

I also found the Ezio trilogy to be my favorite so far, and I really liked how Revelations tied up all the stories.

Nothing will happen to me if I just hang for a moment and admire....

That was pretty darn funny. I need these during my workdays!

Cannot fault that argument.

The game play for the freezing skill...looks quite fun. The music is...just wow. It looks like Supergiant Games did another great job at creating an immersible world with their use of sound, voice, and art. It is quite telling when indie game studios are creating some of the most memorable and innovative games with

Understandable. Though I found I was quite engaged with the story towards the end of the game. Though that highlights a small flaw with the game...the story's most engaging elements did not develop until late in the game as you encounter a few other people. I will say though, I found myself emotionally engaged with

I listen to the score on a daily basis...one of the best in years.

See, for me...I played through a second time right away, which rarely happens for me now a days. Playing on a higher level of difficulty, and still having weapons to max out was enough.

Easily one of my most anticipated games, Bastion was nothing short of perfect.

Cannot wait to play this game!!

Which is totally why I liked your article, and just realized my post seems like I say people shouldn't haha. I agree though, finding out how to fit games into your adult life is key.

I totally wrote that wrong...I meant play straight through without doing side quests...it is the first game in a while that has motivated me to do that and not be bored and annoyed. It is one of my favorite games in a very long time.

Veit, I am in the same boat. Work full time, commute 4 hours a day, and just finished up my MS. I found that even though in the back of my mind I knew I had a ton of work to do, if I had carved out a little time for something like a few hours of videos game in a week, or watch a few of my shows, it helped me stay

Great article Tina. The majority of us for whom this article was written grew up with games, and video games have become a part of our identify. I am a firm believer in not ditching that hobby as that has the high potential to create reinstatement towards whatever external factor lead to that change. I myself stick to
