I love the character of Harley Quinn but never really liked her origin story... it’s not bad per se, but sometimes it feels like the story of her downfall is more for the sake of building up the Joker’s character rather than hers, i.e. to show that he is so brilliantly evil and manipulative, he was able to take a

In all fairness I’m pretty certain a major reason why Loki’s villainy works is because of Hiddleson. He sells the backstory really well in the first Thor movie. Take the following parts for example:

Was always a fan of Demona’s background. As the only survivor of the “curse” upon the Gargoyles, her backstory eventually stretches centuries. Her evil ambitions are clearly explained as well as her attitude towards humanity and the other gargoyles. It makes it all the more interesting when she comes up against the

It helped that his dad was one of the worst fathers in fiction. Firelord Ozai is second only to Gendo Ikari for worst father in fiction.

When your origin story has you being a Holocaust survivor, it’s hard not to sympathize.

Now to make Settlers of Catan cupcakes!

Think I read that Robert Downey Jr. actually had to beg and bully Chris Evans into playing Captain America because he wasn’t interested in joining another superhero franchise.

Did you see him in Scott Pilgrim (Lucas Lee, Evil Ex #2)? He’s fantastic there.

“If it helps....” sheesh. He should have just said “Close your eyes and think of England.”

Evans was great as Johnny... So great that for a while it tricked the public into confusing the character with the actor.

Raising Chris Evans’ profile so that he could be seriously considered as Cap was probably the best thing to come out of those FF movies.

Chiklis and Evans were both good, but the rest of the cast was bland (Reed) or awful (Alba, McMahon). The great irony of the Fantastic Four is the that the Corman film probably has the best script of any of the movies to date.

“If it helps, think of this as... a promotion.”

Cyborg works for expanding minority characters, but in my heart I wish it were Static.

Now playing

The hallway fight scene from Daredevil. The only fight scene that had somebody throwing a microwave.

I learned that DC’s claim this weekend that Harley Quinn is a great rolemodel for young girls because she is “Sexy without being Skanky” was so much hilarious bullshit that it seems like they couldnt wait to prove themselves liars.

But...it is a cartoon? I mean, Akira and Cowboy Bebop are both anime, so why would you call them anything else? Same thing with Batman: The Animated Series or even The Triplets of Belleville — they are cartoons. There are nothing wrong with that. There is nothing lesser about being a cartoon.

I never realized how many voices I could do until I started reading this to my daughter. My Hobbes has a quiet dignity.
