Season 2 was not only better than Daredevil Season 1, and not only better by a country mile than all the other Netflix Marvel stuff, I’d put it on par with the MCU as far as entertainment value and quality of adaptation. It gets the character right, it follows the comics, Punisher and Elektra were the shit, and the

“Dave’s not here, man”

i agree and disagree with you. i dont mind the movies going in a new direction, but I hated TLJ because of its EXECUTION. the movie is just not very good in terms of delivering its narrative/tone/message properly.

Quiet you, with your reasonable expectations about a movie not wasting your time and disliking being told that nothing in the first film matters, something something about subversion, something something about this interpretation of the Force being JUST what we need right now.
Who cares if The Last Jedi is like a film

Exactly. If that was the aim, don’t give us an opening installment drowning in nostalgia and recreating Ep. IV almost note for note. (And that’s before we even get into the subject of boldness, which I would argue is instead blandness. Beyond any complaints with particular plot points or story choices, I just find

“Except for the fact that it is a good movie. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it a bad film. I could point to many technical and story aspects that make it a great film.”

I was surprised that I enjoyed The Punisher as much as I did.

I liked Daredevil S2. Pretty sure lots of people liked it, although it was always going to be hard to top Fisk.

That sounded like his polite way of saying “I’m not interested in D&D, but I am working on a show that’s connected to it so I have to be nice.” I doubt he’d come onboard for a game of Masks or Everyone is John.

I didn’t read your post, but I looked at a lot of the blank space on the screen and absorbed the essence of your dunderheaded homeopathic nonsense.

I loved Elektra as a character. Her story arc, not so much.

You can, and should, skip Iron Fist. You will miss literally nothing. Have you seen Arrow? Judging from your post, yes. Here’s Iron Fist’s entire plot: Danny Rand is Oliver Queen (heir to a corporate thrown who lost a or both parent(s), respectively, en route to China in a private jet), but replace Olly’s

I mean, to each their own, but I think The Defenders (as a show, not talking about the characters “The Defenders”) is pretty dumb and, in regards to their villains, kind of... really horribly written (for the most part).

‘white dudes get shit done’

The thing is there was no obscure or unclear story bits, they were there but badly executed, that’s the great issue, the execution of the show was poorly handled

That’ snot what I’m arguing for at all. I don’t think handholding or being more obvious was the problem. Defenders of the show are acting like people who didn’t like the show or didn’t like Danny “don’t get it”. We get it. We just think the writing and acting of “it” was poor. We don’t need it to have been dumbed

I didn’t personally think that they did a particularly good job portraying his issues, but we can agree to disagree. My point was that even if they intended for him to be this way, it doesn’t make him entertaining to watch! Intent doesn’t mystically make your entertainment product good (or bad), it just gives you a

Is it only me that found the Name of the Wind kind of dull and not worthy of the insane worship it keeps getting? I think I got halfway through it before I decided it wasn’t all it was hyped to be. I mean, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t blowing my socks off, and I just don’t get the adulation.

I have to be honest, it’s absolutely not for me. I have tried several times. The farthest in I got was when he starts raving how awesome his family is. I get that he is telling how they look to other people. But I just hate him talking and have to stop.

I don’t understand why people think this series is so good. I wish I did.
