Oh, I understand that it was written from a Catholic perspective. I just don't like this perspective, as I don't like absolute evil and unbreakable oaths. I do like the set of Tolkien's world though, so I choose to interpret it as I like.

See, the One's name is not magical, however you pronounce it - be it Eru or Iluvatar. At least, I don't think it is. Sentient creatures in Middle-Earth are responsible for their choices, whether they like it or not, otherwise Mandos would've been jobless.

But we don't have any proof the invocation of Eru's name is actually magical in any way.

Good point.

Actually, I don't think so. I was going to say none of them had to follow the stupid oath in the first place. The only thing forcing them to was their own pride. The danger of the oath was in the sons of Feanor blindly following it. There was nothing supernatural about it.

However, we've got extremely long livers who aren't evil. For instance, Nicholas Flamel. Or Tom Bombadil.

Well, my desktop can get pretty cluttered sometimes, but that's because I like to keep stuff I use within reach and I don't know how to use shelves and drawers for some reason. All of it undergoes ruthless revision whenever I feel like it, but even when there is not much stuff it's still somehow messy - I don't know

I vote nano-robots. Everything is recycled without you having to take a break.

when they rid themselves of their "joy" and are looking for toilet paper, they might be more inclined to pick happiness

The gremlins probably find this sentence just as funny as I do and want it to stay for its entertainment value.

`any oliphaunts?'

So, basically, I am on drugs when it happens.

All the sphincters in the human body are precious! Each has a function (probably) and it's good that we have them.

Good point. I didn't even notice at first

No coffee-foam art in orbit though, unfortunately

There are sphincters in your throat too

I don't have a personal experience with opiate withdrawals, although someone close to me had to fight codeine addiction at some point.

My pupils get larger when I have an anxiety attack. I don't take any medicine, so I have always assumed it must be due to some body chemistry (have no clue how it actually works though). Come to think of it, it does feel as if I am some kind of high (in an unpleasant way) when it happens.

These topics are really not mutually exclusive...

I am really liking this season. All the episodes are different and the entire thing feels new.
