Frankly it couldn't possibly be less tasteful than Trunk Club's sponsorship.

“As long as God isn’t involved, and there’s beer.”

More like venture crapital.

He also described the entire proceeding as "pure applesauce" which must have been a sick burn in 1943.

Also, critically, Scalia used the phrase "interpretive jiggery-pokery" in his dissent.

Oh I've read them, and I'm certainly not pro-CSA by any stretch. (One of my ancestors was one of Grant's Corps' commanders.) It's just that the distinction between ideal and action, as you put it, can be a pretty fine.

To play devil's advocate for a sec, it's not like slavery was an after the fact aberration from the nation's founding ideals. It was very much countenanced by the federal government from the country's inception and codified in the founding documents.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT

I liked when Kirk qualified it with "that's what we'd say on the South Side" and everyone on the South Side sort of blankly stared at him.

While the piece goes deep on DeLonge

"Plus, neither plane was full. Was what, maybe 2/3, maybe even 3/4 full? Well at any rate, what you're left with is just the 50th worst airplane crash… Actually, tied for 50th!"

That's a pretty Ray Velcoro move on Diddy's part.

I am the ex-boyfriend this song is about and I approve this message.

Back when it started it was much smaller and took place in multiple venues over a weekend. Once it moved to Humboldt and blew up in 2012, the variety in terms of act exploded. On the one hand, some really great bands (The Stooges, Elvis Costello), on the other hand it basically became more similar to Lolla.

It's a lot of things, but I don't know anyone who'd characterize Snoop Dogg, Faith No More or Motorhead as punk. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

They've since edited the article, but WMAQ originally opened a piece on Riot Fest by basically saying "we don't know what punk rock is":

Good question, since I've only tried metal picks on an acoustic. I'd guess it depends on how low your action is/types of pick ups. Personally I prefer the Dunlop Tortex Jazz IIIs because you get the attack and the dynamics without scratching the shit out of your soundboard. Perfect for fast, accurate flatpicking.
