What agenda could the game possibly be pushing that we’re worried about?  “Revenge is bad?”  How controversial.

Very abstracted conspiracy-mongering that seems very concerned about some aspect of the game that the writer is having trouble explicitly stating

I think you mean Nerfnow.

I don’t know how to react to your comment.  Laughter? Confusion? a sigh?  I have no idea.

Life in Aggro is on point. Players in MMOs will always do the braindead easy thing 100 times over the slightly involved thing 10 times to get the same result.

I am not advocating for the removal of the user experience. I am saying that they are not of equal importance.

The thing is saying “SJW”, and more recently “virtue signalling” does not give someone an air of awareness or intelligence. Because we all know where exactly the complaints are coming from.  The second I see someone use those terms in anything other than a joke and every other word gets ignored.

The reviews on the Playstation store are clearly bull. They were there before the game was even out. It’s also why I don’t trust reviews for games on their own platforms respectively. They shouldn’t even have a score really.

I fucking hate metacritic for not developing protections against this type of infantile hatred. I read one review that said ‘One Star: LESBIANS!!!’ Like... it’s SO dumb.

They should just erase those reviews that has nothing to do with the game and anyone who uses RWNJ terms should be gone, they can go fuck themselves.

Comments like yours tilt me to be honest. Your like 1 cm away from saying the game is targeting queer women. And the game 100% in no way at all even points in that general direction. Ellie’s sexual orientation has legit ZERO to do with what is going on within the “main” story of the game. If she was queer or straight

It’s the same argument people used For Gone Home.  Basically it’s a “clever” way to get around the fact that there are LESBIANS!

Because the data sets are not built through any sort of scientific attempt at applying scores. Every journalist has a completely different viewpoint of what constitutes a 10 and what constitutes a 6.

The game explores the same themes as the first and it is a distinct continuation of all the consequences and setup from the first game.  I have no idea why you would think of it as a YA novel. Perhaps you only saw the first few hours where they focus on young love, but by the 4th hour all the way up until the 20 or 30

Well I honestly do not see the point of giving such prominence to user reviews if they can be weaponized by immature or bad faith people.

Why would you pay attention to Metacritic user reviews? They havent been honest for a long time. Especially not since botting became a thing. The ironic thing about them calling out critic reviews for beingf paid for is that its more often user reviews that are bought and paid for. Even when its not a brigading

Imagine how sad one’s life must be to review-bomb some game on Metacritic, esp. over some perceived “SJW”-ness or something.

Oh nice! I love when abandoned games (or abandoned builds, in this case) see the light of day. I’m still holding out hope that the early Duke Nukem Forever builds find their way to us.

. . . And the “Mission Accomplished!” banner that was waving behind George W. Bush during his victory lap speech on the aircraft carrier in 2004 was technically for the aircraft carrier, which had just returned from a tour in the Persian Gulf.

If the quote “if I didn’t have a primary I wouldn’t care.” is misleading it’s because Engel didn’t complete his thought, not because he is being misquoted. For what it’s worth I happen to agree with you that the context of what he was saying is that he wouldn’t care about speaking more so than not caring about
