Also went to undergrad there. Reminded why I hated the fratty bar scene and stuck to the crappy ones.

My parents went there a few years before and my mom’s dorm was across the way from the Chi O house. She graduated in ‘75, though.

He is our hero over and over and over. It is because of him that we still have five clinics open.

Really? I never experienced anything and I often wondered. Just North Campus and the older dorms or all over?

Thanks for the tips! I think one run by a historical society would be right up my alley. I’ve always been so mesmerized and charmed by the FQ—I love the way it feels like you’re just sucked in. I even got a Peter O’Neill lithograph as a Christmas present last year. It reminds me of the city.

I know exactly what you mean! Tell me the specifics—it’s mean to hint! My husband was completely unimpressed and I doubt he’ll ever go on a ghost tour again, but now I really want to go on one in our city, too.

Oh, my God, your dream brought tears to my eyes. My best friend had a Holocaust dream while we were in college studying the Holocaust, but not as vivid or as true as yours sounds.

We did see the LaLaurie House on the tour (saw, not toured, obviously). It’s funny—my daughter brought a ghost story book home last week and there are stories in there about Madame LaLaurie and Marie Laveau, so we had a short discussion on voodoo.

Can you share which house? I live close to New Orleans and would love to get into some real ghost stuff. We went on a tour last year and I was really disappointed to google the stories and find out that the guide had made stuff up/changed dates, etc. The tour did, however, make me super interested in the casket girls.

I work from home and my dogs randomly bark throughout the day (especially the old dog; she’s very high strung and barks at the slightest noise), so I tend to dismiss most of it. However, if I’m in the shower and they start barking it freaks me the fuck out. Case in point, this morning I got in the shower after my

Exactly. We’re not exactly talking about people who don’t go on to big careers. I’m sure the AL House and Senate is full of them, too, as well as lobbyists and others pulling the strings in the state.

My God, is it hard to be a Georgia grad in this state.

Whoa, that’s insane! I’m also so curious about where you went to school. The historic quad thing made me wonder if it’s where I went. Freshman year I lived in a historic dorm part of a historic quad.

I think it’s an older word for pirates/mercenaries. I live in an area that was settled by Europeans at the turn of the eighteenth century (near water, too), so from what the medium gathered this woman was an early settler in the frontier area.

My 8 year old is obsessed with Bloody Mary. It’s apparently all the rage with the kids at her school. My problem is that I wrote my thesis on Mary I, so I have little patience for the histrionics.

That is so freaking cool (and scary). I’m a huge Civil War nut and I honestly don’t know what I’d do if I encountered a ghost on a battlefield. I’ve been to some places known for their paranormal activity (Andersonville and Gettysburg), but have never felt anything there.

That’s terrifying! If this was a ghostly experience and not a nightmare or night terror, I’d love to have know the story behind it. It reminds me of a story I read about a ghost reading in the city where I live where the medium picked up on a woman who was constantly running around terrified, who then told her she was

I was just five minutes ago searching for the old threads because I was so ready for this year’s. YAY!

Oh, oh, I couldn’t let this pass. I’m so, so sorry you and your family went through this. I can identify, and I know how hard it is. My spouse is an Episcopal priest and once wasn’t offered a job because I worked for Planned Parenthood. I go by my maiden name in my professional work and don’t tell anyone I work in
