I think calling this movie Battleship and saying it's based on the board game is a HUGE mistake. Cool that it was inspired from the game, but after that, just let it go. If this movie had a different name, and nobody knew what inpired it, shit it probably would have been received with much more enthusiasm.

*hfffff*

Just sayin'

I don't mind a bit of bias in reviews. For a resource like Kotaku, which is more for gamers than average consumers, I'd love to see reviews from reviewers who are actually fans of the franchise (or genre if it's a new IP). As a gamer I know what kinds of games I'm going to play, and rarely, if ever read reviews for

woahahahahahaaaa! wOAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!

I HATE NEW THINGS >:(

Sony Baloney!

You should stop thinking about Michelle Rodriguez being any more movies...

I wonder city this takes place in. At the 1 minute mark it kinda looks like THAT WAS SPARTA!!!

It's too late for half life 3. The longer you wait the more you build up fan expectations. "Pee Pee 2: The Poopening"?

Is there a link to this video that works?

They're gonna buy out the whole planet!

Violent video games are making me angry at this story! GRAAAAAH!!!

Haha yeah, I guess it's more nerdcore, and therefore acceptable news on io9, which is cool (cool cool cool). I'm just glad it isn't cancelled!

What does this have to do with Need for Speed (Pic)?

V-22's appear in the single player campaign I guess, would be sweet if they were in multiplayer.

Agreed! 3D movies give me a headache. I always opt for the 2D version. I just wish 3D would go away (in movies).

Man, I don't get all the hate for this move. Looks like pure win to me. I thought the first one was pretty kick ass too. Is it just because it's fashionable to hate Nicholas Cage these days?
