I think the biggest reason why is that if tesla made a cheaper EV, it would be missing features and range. And when you take away features and range, you’re left with what everyone else makes, or even less than what others offer.
There’s a reason they don’t want their cars to look, drive or be built like other EVs.

As the owner of the one-off engine design cheating Passat, I’m still angry about how VW treated the newer diesels when it came time to the buyback money.

The mask was also supposed to have a voice changer when it was first announced.  But when released that feature was missing.  So it basically lights up and that’s it.  On top of not being a useful mask...

It’s not just the cooking sprays that do this, just about ANY oil will cook and turn to an enamel and I have ruined several non-stick items this way...
