Just because you no longer see future bills to charge it, doesn’t mean it’s free and that upfront cost disappears. It just means that he paid up-front the cost to have the panels.…
It’s a common statement made by electric owners. Somehow having solar means you no longer pay to charge. They forget that the solar panels cost something to start with - so while they are charging for “free” - they paid for it up-front, still means they paid to charge the car (just not directly).
That Leaf that cost you $0 to drive - good thing you don’t have to pay registration. Or insurance. Or *lease payments*
