The Westin Bonaventure in downtown is reasonably close to union station and I’ve enjoyed staying there as a starvation (I’m local to LA). It’s a little old school but has a very cool bar/restaurant on the top floor with great views and is close to nightlife nearby if that’s something you’re into.
